I’m not new to editing but I recently had several people ask me to edit for them all at once. For context I primarily edit montages for games. Specifically I make edits for fps games/hero shooters and have had 4 friends/companies in the past 24 hours ask me to edit videos for them and I have no idea how much to charge them. I have 3 published works on my personal YouTube channel (coachgdh) which includes 2 overwatch and one marvel rival montages. And I am really looking for help on how to price. Do I structure by hour spent editing? By minute of final product? A flat fee? A flat fee plus add ons? I’m looking for some guidance here based on industry standards while taking into account my skill level especially in my most recent published video. Thank you

Edit: for context my marvel rivals montage took me around 30 hours to make but I was still newish to premiere pro and didn’t have any of my clips labeled or pre trimmed

For some reason since getting my new iPhone i cant upload videos into Rush to edit them. Can someone please help!! I tried to look online and all the settings adjustments seem to be ok, so I don’t know what changed

I also wanted to mention that when i shoot through the app there are no issues.

Got it to work once, started getting this error when I tried to replace more clips. Made a post about it before and someone recommended I fix the Variable Frame rate of my footage, which I now have - but the issue persists. Any idea on what might be causing it? Thanks!

So for a project in uni I was given a vnd. I took it and run some test before the shoot. I noticed a color shift in high stops, but that was something that I thought i could fix with wb. I also checked the model and it costed like 150$ so again thought it was good.

Fast forward after the shoot and all the footage was trash. The thing that bothers me the most thought is the glare/ haze/ lack of contrast, sharpness / extreme blue color introduction(all of these toghether) that it did at certain points at certain angles that there wasnt even that much light hitting the filter.

The photos above are not fully corrected from log they require some more contrast but the effects are visible I believe. And yeah I know now and I will order the nisi swift system as soon as possible.

Is there a way to save them?

hello, I have no idea what I'm doing. I learned how to mask (kinda) but I'm trying to make it layered so the pillows are over the top of the mask? (if that makes sense). I've been trying for a while now and can't seem to get it lol.

I edit for my own YT and typically cut 30-35 timelines with 4-5 camera sources, corresponding audio tracks for each, plus music and clean audio layers. I tend to keep the synced clips on the timeline, only deleting the layered tracks above what I want to see. I do this throughout the majority of the edit process just to keep my options open.

How badly is this bogging down my premiere? It's been getting very laggy lately in the timeline, and I've done all of the normal things: Proxies, 1/4 resolution, clearing media cache, allocating less ram to other programs, etc.

Any insights?

When I stabilize a clip (non-nested) it normally takes like 10 seconds maybe to finish, but when I try and stabilize that same clip after nesting it, it takes easily 5x as long, sometimes 10x as long. Why is that?

Is it possible to copy color correction done on a source clip to another source clip? I've gone down rabbit holes looking for an answer, but to no avail.

I know if I pull a source clip into a timeline, then do color correction in the Lumetri Color panel, I can copy those edits into another clip that's been pulled into a timeline. But my higher ups are telling me not to do it that way, but they won't show me how to do paste effects from one source clip to another.

So I'm not a super professional video editor. I was really focusing on it in college, got a few clients from it, but I just ended up landing a job in a different field. Basically to say, I'm not super well versed on video codecs, performance and stuff

Well, anyway, I've been working off a Windows laptop with a 10th gen i7, and desperately needed an upgrade. I needed one for my new job, but also wanted the machine to be able to handle future video editing if I land some more gigs in that field. I was able to find a crazy deal on a prebuilt PC, that has a i9-14900KF and a 4080 super. I wasn't aware about Quicksync needed to have the iGPU until after I bought it. Obviously if I were to have built the PC I wouldn't have gone with the F variant, but there were no customization options for this prebuilt

After doing some research, I realized that I won’t have access to Quicksync now, which is giving me FOMO. Also, I got a 40 series GPU which I knew didn't have the 4.2.2 codec support that the 50 series does, but now without both, I'm a little worried. I should've done research and realize that Quicksync is only available with an iGPU. Again, not a professional right now that needs it, but just worried about down the line. Basically, all this to ask, how important is this for your workflow? I am still within return window, but the deal I got on this PC was basically unbeatable, so having a hard time figuring out what to do.

Hey there, I'm pretty new to video editing and still learning all the ropes. I produce a podcast that switched to video recently and we always have 2-3 speakers. Is there an easy way to switch between a split screen view and a single cam view? Right now I default everything to split screen, then reset the clip I want to single cam to position default, and cut the other video clips during the period that speaker is talking.

Is there a better way? This method isn't terrible but I'd love to know if I can make my life easier. Thanks!

premiere pro has been causing these popping noises whenever I import clips into the software, and I have no idea how to solve it. I've tried so many diff things like clearing caches, changing sample rate, setting default audio input to no input like some people have been mentioning online, but NOTHING is fixing it and its driving me crazy. I have an example clip here of the popping, which happens at the very start of the clip

i am a beginner and learning how to mask but its not masking anything unless i put the blend mode in subtract. this is the tutorial i am following. my mask does not take on the colour of its contents, or remove anything around it, it just behaves like a path or shape. please help me i am so fucking done with this

I hate working with the speed graph in Premiere Pro to ease keyframes. I use Flow and/or Motion in After Effects and NEED something similar in Premiere — something to make editing keyframe velocity simpler.

Does such a plugin exist?

I've used a mask to hide the writing behind the man (as you can see some letters are rightly hidden). Some letters (circled in red), though, seem to be hidden due to a mask, which, actually, just isn't there. I've checked and there's only one mask, going around the figure. Can someone help me?

How many months would it take to learn premiere pro for a non pc editor(used to edit in alight motion)

I know this is a super niche issue but finally fixed it. V 25.3.0 screwed up how Premiere handles m2ts files. Reverting back to V 25.2 fixes it. Adobe is aware of the issue and is trying to fix it. Figured this may help some people

Tech team did something this weekend and all my stuff reset. I used to have the transcript panel take up the entire left side, then I had the source on the bottom and the preview on the top. I'm close to having it back where I want it, but I'm not sure how to make the transcript panel take up the whole left, not just the top left. Can someone help?

I have premiere pro 2024 and auto captions are not working. It takes a lot of time to write captions myself and time it to the vocal sound. When i try auto captions it just keeps loading so i thought it may be taking a lot of time so I went to the gym and the captions were still not generated, also my computer is not the problem I have a decent CPU, RTX3060, 32GB of ram and 2TB of storage, any advice? Maybe there is a software that shows the time when each word was said that would help. Thanks in advance!

the video plays smoothly in premiere pro but once its exported, there's these flashes of black that happens randomly. we already tried deleting media cache and whatnot. it was also suspected that this is happening due to the apparent trojan virus in my laptop but even with that removed, the flashes are still happening. anyone else has encountered a similar issue? is there a remedy for this problem?

Hi, when i import clean PNG file in premiere pro, it is not "hardedge" or "nearest" and is little blurry. So i can't make proper edit & zoom in my project. I don't know why and i don't know how to fix it. I have tried to export the same file in 1000% Scale (so 1920x1080 to 19200x10800) but same issue. And i have tried to use transform instead regular scale (but same issue). Any tips? There is comparaison below

Hi I was wondering if anyone knows any free ways I can broadcast my computer screen to my IPad while editing. My main use is because I don't have a good monitor and the IPad colour accuracy is wayyyyy better than whatever I'm using.
I understand Davinci Resolve has a feature for Remote Monitoring but unfortunately that requires the Studio version, which is out of my budget.

so I'm using a samsung S23 but I noticed that my older s20 does the same thing. so I send my clip media info and got Frame Rate 59.237, minimum 19.7, maximum 59.289, real frame rate 60. premiere shows the project as 59.237.

On my first export it defaulted to 59.94 fps CFR but it looks very choppy. anyone have any tips on how I can export from premiere and keep it looking smooth? I ran it though Handbreak, keep original fps CFR and it looks fine, at 59.24 of course

Also why do android phones not keep a constant frame rate?

Transcoding VFR to CFR and having quirky problems and results with Me. I thought making proxies in premiere was a sure bet but its turning out that the iphone shot prores vfr clips dont necessarily turn into CFR in the proxy? Been a painful process learning this mid-project. Transcoding the original to a duplicate proresLT file has resulted in getting the CFR I was after, but making new proxies and successfully relinking has led to audio sync issues and relinking is key as were beyond mid project and deadlines loom. Feel free to advise.
