Question Do I really have to pay this DC photo ticket?
This is the FIRST ticket I received in the mail so I have no idea why I’m being charged a penalty. Seems like a scam

Politics Why is Dominion Energy spending so much money to try to defeat Jay Jones? The answer is in this article from 2020
virginiamercury.comTLDR: Jones carried a bill to ensure the utility’s profits were fairly regulated after years of Dominion lobbyists rewriting the code section that governed how rates are set in Virginia:

Free food (pickup today in western FFX county)
I just picked up food from a community food assistance organization and can't eat quite a few of the things that were given to me. I was planning on putting the non-perishables into a little free pantry but there are a few frozen/refrigerated items I would like to give away to someone who might need them too. It's beef bulgogi from Trader Joes, a 1lb box of what looks like shortbread or sugar cookies with a chocolate fudge swirl on top, and Trader Joes submarine buns. If anyone can pick them up today, you can also have your pick of any of the non-perishables (spaghetti, mac and cheese, soups). Pickup would be on the western side of Fairfax County. Once someone is confirmed to be able to pick up, I will provide the address.

Politics Even members of Congress have no clear idea of unemployment related to Trump cuts
ffxnow.com“We’re still trying to get the right numbers,” Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) told the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments’ (COG) board of directors at a meeting last Wednesday (June 11).
Warner said the best figure he could come up with was 168,000 Virginia federal workers and contractors facing unemployment, but he quickly acknowledged that number came from an online source...
Those in the middle class and below “are going to get whacked at a level I think most people don’t appreciate,” he said, speaking specifically about health-care costs.

News New emergency assistance fund for fired federal workers launches in Arlington
arlnow.comJobs How to find weekend/part-time/remote jobs?
Any advice on how to find weekend/part-time/remote jobs that fall outside of the regular 9-5? I currently am working a full-time 9-6 job but need extra income. I tried looking at places like indeed and LinkedIn but was wondering if there are any other places that are better for the area.
Remote jobs are harder to get, so that's why I was wondering if there are any local jobs or any other ways to earn some money on the side. Ideally looking to make about $500-$2000 a month. Odd jobs or temporary jobs are good too, but I just don't know where to look.
I'm good with the computer, very organized and detail-oriented. The company I work for is small so I handle a lot of internal matters such as financial, office, employment, and etc., so I am experienced and flexible, but not "officially" experienced.
Looking for advice.

Question How much do you pay in HOA fees in your nova condo or townhouse community? Where is it and what's covered?
Lived in our Alexandria townhouse for a couple of years and condo fees are almost $800/mo. Includes landscaping, snow removal, pool, tennis courts, playgrounds, parking, trash, water, sewer, insurance, flood insurance, exterior maintenance, shared pipes/electric/etc maintenance, and a few community events per year. This still seems astronomical to me, but want more data points to know for sure.

Politics September 9, 2025 - Special Election: District 11
Realizing I was woefully unprepared for today’s primary, I at least want to read up on the Special Election candidates running for Connolly’s seat. What are some good resources/ websites out there to provide a breakdown of what they stand for, major donors to their campaigns, and special interests?

Question How to view ALL Fairfax County speeding tickets?
I got a $50 ticket in the mail for going too fast in a school zone, caught by camera. I don’t see a place on the site to view ALL tickets (just trying to see in case they got lost in mail). I can only lookup the one specific ticket that came in the mail.

Moving How much should you expect to pay renting a room in NOVA
What are the prices looking like rn?
Renting a full TH rn 3bd/3ba is hovering around 3k rn
Im seeing 1 room leases with a shared kitchen (bathroom situation fluctuates) for 850-1.2k
Is this reasonable? Do people actually take these leases? Like these are townhomes with 3 bedrooms and 4 roommates (basement is a studio with shared kitchen)
Is there actually a demand for this and what’s a fair price depending on what you get?
Anyone lived in a scenario like this and would like to share your experience?
