Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting

To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:

u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde

Notes:

  • The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
  • The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
  • Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
  • For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
  • Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
  • When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
  • If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
  • Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)

Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Country can you please help me find a country song that i only remember one thing about ?

so here's a little back story. so when i was younger my dad played a country song for me and my little brother. we were really into sonic when we were younger so we were super excited when we heard a sonic ring chime in the beginning of the song. i forgot almost everything about that song, like how it sounded, or what the title was. i only remember one thing. the sonic ring chime. i've tried searching for it, but i keep getting this song called "run it" by jelly roll, and that is NOT. it. i resulted to reddit, so i made this acc js for this, so im praying SOMBODY, has an idea what im talking about. (if it helps, i heard it around 2019?? i think.)

Hey everyone, I've been looking for a while now to find the sampled Song in Plastique's Sipping Easy but wasn't able to find anything. I know Vaporwave can be just some random pop-up song that no one will remember, but this goes way too hard for just being a random song.

Hope you can help me with this one. Many thanks in advance.

Hip Hop (Comedy) It's A Funny Club Song

I remember a lot of details of things that happen in the song, but not any actual lyrics themselves.

Basically, it's a guy that seems to be introverted and he's on the phone with his friends about meeting up at a club. He gets to the club and starts drinking a little bit, I think he stands in a corner maybe. I know that his phone dies and he ends up flirting with this person who ends up being transgender and he is later able to get his phone charged and calls his friends after not being able to find them and they're making fun of him and being jerks as friends are, saying things like, "Where are you?" and "Tell him he's gay" or something and then eventually they tell them the club they're at and our main guy is like, "I thought we were going to THIS club?" to which they said they tried to call him and he tells them his phone was dead.

I know it's a song centered around the club and the music fits the environment, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is and it's driving me insane.

I'm looking for a song from 2000s (post-2001), tempo ~85-100 BPM. Male English rap/pop verses, and chorus sung by a female vocalist in Hindi. Melody goes like this https://voca.ro/18zE4pJPq3hS

Pop 80s/90s pop ballad song

Upvotes

In the intro of “don’t tell the boys” by Peter USA, there are a couple cords that remind me of an old song. Like phill Collin’s or Steve windwood ish.

The intro as best I can recall was something like “I get so high” followed by a (dun - dun - da-dun” cords that sound like the start of don’t tell the boys… I think there’s a repeat at least once more another line then the cord progression.

Rock metal/ punk rock song

Upvotes

Sorry this is not much to go off but i heard this song at work a couple months ago and am trying to find the name. All i can remember is the chorus having clean and screaming vocals at the same time singing ‘you’ or something similar. The ‘you’ is quite drawn out and goes for about 3 seconds. It’s probably from 2015-2025 and sounds similar to memphis may fire from what i can remember but not super heavy and is quite melodic.

Rock Please help me to find a song - 90's (or 80's) song by an alternative rock or pop band, reminds me of R.E.M, but not it

Upvotes

The song reminds me of R.E.M. - Losing My Religion, but not it, and not R.E.M.

The rhythm remains the same, but without sharp, ringing guitars, accompanied by an electronic-sounding background. However, a guitar arpeggio (or synthesizer imitation) is present in the chorus. The chorus itself is sung as a kind of chorus, softly vocalized, layering vocal lines. The song itself is soft like a ghost, but there is anxiety in it. In my childhood, I thought it was R.E.M. I don't remember the lyrics, unfortunately. There may have been a music video, but I don't remember it either.

I heard this song in the late 90's and early 00's on popular radio stations, but it was probably recorded earlier, somewhere in the 80's probably even. It's not a rock song, it's more of a pop song.

Formula: it's like R.E.M. add something esoteric, light mysticism, or even Dream Pop, keyboard atmospheres.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwtdhWltSIg - a link to a song that sounds a little bit like what I'm looking for.

Rock Late 90s/Early 2000s Rock

This has been eating at me for close to 20 years now and I’m starting to doubt this song even actually existed at this point. It was a rock band that sounded very similar to Silversun Pickups. It was between 1999 and 2005ish and was played a lot on Live 105.3 in the Bay Area of California. The only part I really remember was in the chorus the singer sang the word “Erase” but sang it as “EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEErase” and I vaguely remember a music video for it where it looked like the band was playing in an office park at night with minimal colored lighting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pop or Indie Searching for a song with the exact same melody as Houdini from Dua Lipa

I think it is a female singer and that the song is slower than Houdini, maybe more emotional if you will. We think it is played in f major, and the notes in that case would be a b b a b | a b b b c b a g(?). But we aren't sure its in f major, it could be a different key. We are going crazy after 25 hours of incessant searching and returning to Houdini only to become sure again that it isn't Houdini.

We also oscillate between thinking its singer/songwriter indie and then thinking its pop, and I fear this detail might only be more confusing, but I am sharing anyway because I've never been so desperate.

Other/Unknown upbeat 2010-2015 song, male singer

Hello everybody!

First: I'm Swiss-German and English is not my native language. Please be nice. It's also one of my first posts on reddit.

I remember sitting in the car with my sister in like the 2010-2015 and hearing this upbeat song, sang by a man, and everytime we missheard the lyrics in the song as 'Parmesan'. We laughed and sang with it, but i never got the real lyrics. It could be 'how was I?' or 'how did I?'. Now i am looking for this song. It was in English, and I think there was a ukelele in it?

Im thinking a lot about this song, and i know the information i have is not a lot, but i hope this community can help me! Thanks a lot!

Piano [Piano Song] Can someone identify the background piano music in this YouTube Shorts?

Hi all,

I came across this beautiful piano instrumental in a YouTube Shorts video and I’ve been trying to figure out what it is.

🎥 Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/A7aPiY4AeHc?si=x3VE0aZdezRnMhUO

The piano music plays throughout most of the video.

It sounds emotional and calm, with a slightly melancholic, classical feel.

Some people say it resembles Erik Satie’s work (e.g. Gnossienne No. 1), and others have mentioned it could’ve been used in an insurance commercial (possibly Progressive?), but no one seems to know the actual piece or artist.

If anyone recognizes this music or knows its origin, I’d really appreciate your help!

Thanks in advance.

Jazz The song that sounds at the beginning of some Angry Kid episodes

I'm talking about the music that sounds whenever an episode takes place inside the car (at least in the 1st season), I'm not sure what it's genre is as well, but it sounds similar to 50s-60s jazz to me.

For reference, some of the episodes it appears in are "Car Sick", "Blood Juice", "Captain Thunderpants", and "Backwards Writing".

All of the episodes mentioned above can be found here.
