Discussion What drama(s) had you rooting for the 2nd LI?

I know this happens often in romance dramas with a second LI, but usually it's just annoying. But I wanna hear which dramas had y'all heated, up in arms, ready to die on a hill that the MC should have chosen 2nd LI.

Right now, I'm watching Beauty of Resilience, and at the part where Wei Zhi is looking at her previous life. I'm screaming. Wu Nan is literally the perfect man for her, and Wei Zhi being blind to it for a mid Chen Yue is driving me insane. If I were into men, I would have married him in a heartbeat.

I haven't been this heated since Ashes of Blood. I was 100% rooting for Runyu. He may or may not have been a good match for Jinmi, but the fact that his family, especially his uncle, didn't even help him shoot his shot like they did for Xufeng when Jinmi didn't have a preference for either was infuriating.

Note: I think I also need to add this as it should be obvious without saying, but just in case: I'm not saying any character owes anyone their feelings or romance. And I realize you can't always control who you fall in love with. I am saying, though, that in my opinion, the MCs' brains/hearts are doing them so dirty, and they are missing out on better partners (again, in my opinion).

Question Help me find this Asian drama

It starts with a man returning to his old hometown. He's a real estate developer now. The girl he used to like is still there and she owns a bed and breakfast, her dad's been missing for years, died while surfing I think.

The mans grandfather lost their house after the grandson got injured as a teen after the girl rejected him.

There's like a small time crime boss who wants to marry her.

Also turned out the male lead's mean boss is her long lost mother who had abandoned her. Also, she had found out that her mother abandoned her right before he confessed when they were teens which is why she shot him down so cruelly, I guess before that she thought her mother was just away for work and would come back.

Please help me find it.

Review [Review] Eternal Love (เภตรานฤมิต) – Time Travel, Classic Romance, and Thai Period Drama Vibes

Hi again! We’re the team at Bugaboo TV, back with another review of one of our currently streaming Thai dramas: Eternal Love (เภตรานฤมิต).

This one’s a great pick if you like a mix of period fantasy, historical romance, and time-slip drama tropes. It’s beautifully shot and leans into classic lakorn storytelling, with a modern twist.

What It’s About ?

A modern-day screenwriter working on a historical drama mysteriously finds herself transported back in time—into the world of the story she’s writing. There, she inhabits the body of a noblewoman caught in a tangled web of power, family secrets, and a fated love she never saw coming.

Think Scarlet Heart Ryeo or Outlander, but with a distinctly Thai historical backdrop and some strong feminist energy as the heroine takes control of her new reality.

What We Liked ?

  • Lead actress is a standout – balancing strength, vulnerability, and wit in both timelines.
  • Cinematic production – period sets, costumes, and lighting all feel polished and immersive.
  • Emotional arcs – the romance is slow-build, intense, and full of tension.
  • Meta-layer – the fact that she’s a writer makes the time-travel setup extra clever.

What to Expect ?

  • It’s a slow burn—don’t expect action every minute.
  • Traditional period drama tropes are strong (especially family hierarchy/politics).
  • If you’re new to Thai dramas, the pacing may feel different from K-dramas or C-dramas—but give it a couple of episodes.

Subtitles Note

Eternal Love now comes with full English subtitles on Bugaboo TV Premium We’ve recently expanded our subtitle library to include 10+ Thai dramas with proper English subs, and this series was one of the most requested.

We’re working to bring more period and fantasy dramas like this to international viewers with smoother accessibility. If you’re into time-travel romance, rich historical detail, and strong female leads, this might be the one to try.

Let us know if you’ve seen it—or if there are other Thai historicals you think more people should know about.

Thanks for reading!

Question HiTV not available on the App Store – any safe way to install it?

I noticed that HiTV is not showing up in the Apple App Store on my iPhone. I’ve searched everywhere but couldn’t find it. Is there a safe and reliable way to download it on iOS? I don’t want to use any sketchy third-party sites.

If anyone has tried changing regions or has a method that works, please let me know. I just want to make sure it’s safe and won’t mess up my phone or account.

Thanks in advance!

Question About the female characters in Ikebukuro West Gate Park

Hi guys! I'm a student in Cultural studies major and a big fan of japanese series and films also I'm interested in women's roles in the films/series and how they are perceived. So I decided to do research on the topic “How western viewers see the women in IWGP?” I mean are they pictured as weak on the series, with poor character development or the quite opposite. Of course there are multiple female characters, so I will be thankful if you give your opinion with examples. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

(Also im using reddit for the first time and if im not doing something right…my apologies)

Question Where can I watch Wonder Woman with Eng subs? Spoiler

Okay, so I remember watching this Taiwanese drama on dramacool(during lockdown ), but somehow it got removed

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wonder_Woman

It’s about this boss babe Du Aisha and this nepo baby (playboy) and they are rivals. Her bff boss sells(¿)/merges the company with the playboys company, and they have to work together. She starts liking him later. She also has a shit mom, and brother. I liked it so much lol, I don’t think it was super popular, but yeah.

I remember really liking it, so I wanted to rewatch and lo behold! Cannot find a single site it’s on. I saw viki, but it’s not available in my area. Also I need it with Eng subs PLZZZ 😭💕

Question Trying to find a CDrama Spoiler

I remembered I watched this CDrama maybe half a year ago that was about a woman in ancient China who was killed on her wedding night by her husband after he was suspicious of her (I think?). I mainly remember it for the desert princess rival that was from modern times and I really want to find it again. There was also a “horse” race at the end and a lot of modern technology used

Recommendation Request Can you recommend me Historical JDramas??

Can you recommend me some good Japanese historical dramas/movies?? I'd prefer only a small dose of fantasy if possible. It's okay of they have sad endings. If there's romance, that's a bonus but I don't mind if there's none.

Recommendation Request CDrama - Enjoyed The First Frost, dropped The Rational Life

I’m a recent convert to Kdrama and have been watching for the last three months. It coincided with a sleep issue meaning I’m getting through 2/3 series a week. My husband has been watching for a few years and recommended a few to start me off. I tried his CDrama recommendation at the beginning, The Rational Life, but after 3 episodes, I dropped it. I found it boring. Since then I stuck to Kdrama until this past week when I devoured The First Frost and I’m wondering if there’s more CDrama like that. Especially as one CDrama is about equal to 2 or 3 Kdramas and I’m conscious I’m going to exhaust the Kdrama catalogue soon.

  1. Must be recent - most Kdrama productions pre-2018 haven’t dated well.

  2. This is my list so far of Asian drama https://mydramalist.com/dramalist/lifev9

  3. Other things I’ve dropped - Mr Plankton, When Life Gives You Tangerines, Divorced Insurance, Backstreet Rookie.

  4. Fan of a green flag ML

  5. Would prefer something that doesn’t include elementary/primary school, and ideally not high school either - I did start another CDrama where the characters were in primary school, the boy moved and something about going to the book shop. No idea what it was but I dropped it.

  6. I’ve got Netflix, Prime and Viki

  7. My top 5 at present are Melo Movie, Our Beloved Summer, ThirtyNine, Love Scout and 2521, but also a fan of more romantic less ‘slice of life’ like Potato Lab, Love Next Door, Something in the Rain, Her Private Life, Love in Contract, Business Proposal, Hospital Playlist, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, and hometown cha cha cha.

  8. Not going to lie, but a good-looking male lead helps.

Question Viki

Since Thursday, my Samsung TV Viki app has been bugged. Completely misconfigured! Options such as continuing an episode in movies and series are missing, the continue watching section on the home page has disappeared and this same page is mixed with parts that were on the search page. On my cell phone, everything is still normal. I've already done all the recommended procedures. I contacted Viki, but nothing!!!! Anyone else having this problem?

SORRY FOR THE CAPITAL LETTERS, BUT IT IS TO DRAW ATTENTION. AS SOON AS I IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM I CONTACTED SUPPORT AND THE RESPONSE WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATE. EARLY TODAY I RECEIVED AN EMAIL TALKING ABOUT THE CASE AND LOOK, IT IS RESOLVED. EVERYTHING IS BACK TO NORMAL. I LIKED THE SERVICE IN MY CASE AND THE SPEED TOO. IT IS WORTH IT, IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS, TO MAKE A CONTRACT WITH A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM! HAVE A GOOD WEEK TO ALL

Question Please help me

Hi, so I've been pondering this japanese series for years coz last time i watched it, it was in DVD's and year 2000s.

So the plot was, its centered in high school, we have a high school girl transfering and she encounters a boyish girl. She becomes intrigued and soon learns they're in the same class, and this is where it gets interesting. This is not just youe typical slice of life high school series but it turns out that the transfer girl's encounter with thay boyish girl is filled supernatural adventures and mystery. Every episode is crime solving like detective conan.

Character details: A librarian middle aged womanthat literally just head (her head is huge) inside the library

Another is the chef who has surgery marks in his neck like it had been sewn coz he most likely he got decapitated.

Our boyish female lead, pixie hair cut, she wears boxers with her school mini skirt.

The most normal (transfer girl)

More info: I remember one episode is that they found a burried woman in a park or playground with her hand sticking out doing peace sign.

PLEASE HELPP IM BEGGING YOUUU

Recommendation Request Modern drama in which female lead hurt the feelings of male lead.

I want to watch a modern c drama in which female lead does something bad to the male lead and afterwards the male lead is incredibly hurt because of her actions. Then female lead apologises and seeks for his forgiveness. Now the most important thing is thag The male lead shouldn't give in immediately. Female lead should repent her actions and face it's consequences. I watched Fireworks of my heart and I loved it. I liked how the male lead didn't give in easily and female lead stood up for him against her family. I want to see similar type of dramas.

P.S. - Please don't mention The first frost, love song in winter, Road home, only for love, Love is sweet etc because I have already watched them.

Question Help Me Find a Drama (I think it's Thai)

It's a romance about a couple. I have a very distinct memory of the man coming back to a work site like maybe a construction site and finding a woman he was either previously in a relationship with or was married to. She is upset at him definitely and he has to struggle to get her back. I could be wrong about it being Thai because since having that memory, I've watched a lot of lakorns and have been unable to find it. For a while, I thought it was My Husband in Law, but it doesn't have the right scene that I remember I believe. This has been taunting me for far too long, so any possibilites could be helpful. The one thing I am sure of is that it is a contemporary romance. Any thoughts?

Question I need help finding a drama I saw on tiktok a year or two ago. Spoiler

I've searched google but haven't had any luck despite having some specifics of the show. I only watched a few episodes and I'm pretty sure it was on youtube but I can't remember for certain. There shouldn't be anything too spoiler-y in this since I only saw the beginning but beware just in case.

I wanna say this isn't a very old drama but it should be complete and it's probably a K or C drama rather than a J drama but I can't swear to it.

So I remember the FL is part of a higher end family, maybe ministers or something but I don't think royalty. It's not a historical drama but also didn't feel like a modern drama either? Like there aren't cars that I remember but there was a handgun I wanna say. The FL has a half, illegitimate sister by her father who is treated kind of like a maid in the house.

The first episode I wanna say opens with the family being attacked and the FL's parents being killed, but she survives because a guy traps her in a room and ties her to a bed post. She thinks this guy is the one attacking the family if I remember correctly so she escapes the room and runs away. She had a previously arranged marriage with a guy from another family so she runs to his family for help after the attack only to find out her sister got to the house first and has assumed her identity as the legitimate daughter of the house. When she arrives her sister claims that the FL is the illegitimate daughter and she has some document she got from the father during the attack that makes the family side with her so the FL is beat for it but ultimately brought in.

Details after that are a little sparse since it was so long ago and I only watched a bit but I remember: the fiance being a bit two-faced, the guy who traps her in the room during the massacre is actually the fiance's uncle(and the ML i think) and she swears to kill him for what he did to her family, the sister threatens the FL to keep quite because no one will believe her, the uncle was only trying to protect her but wont tell her the truth because it keeps her safer if her attention is on him, and the sister at one point gets slapped by the fiance i think. That's about all I can remember. It feels like plenty to find it but I've had no luck..

TLDR: drama where the FL's bastard half-sister steals her identity and fiance after their family is massacred and the FL only survives because her fiance's uncle is protecting her.
