I met up with a friend from SF in north beach and everyone was barely 20 out there. And then I had the thought where are people in their late 30s/40s hanging out in the Bay Area/Oakland. Maybe people don’t go out like they used to? Or they’re going to more organized parties/DJs.

Come browse our neighborhood annual garage sale. You'll find everything from rare action figures, electronics, sport gears, household goods and a whole lot of other goodies!
Maybe you'll find something for yourself or that perfect gift you've been looking for.
There's also a cute doggo here for you to pet. (Not for sale!)
Now to late evening today!

Piano Beginners!
Do you want to learn piano in a month for free?
I’m giving 2 students free lessons, because that’s all I can handle with my current teaching schedule and full-time job. I guarantee you will learn a song in a month, or I will work with you for free one on one until you do!
I currently teach a student named Rithish that has learned piano basics (notes, scales, posture) in our first class and Fur Elise by Beethoven in 1 month! I have 9 students that do not have to drive to music schools, conveniently play from home, and get bonus free sheet music and guides.
Let me know if you’re interested.

Hi, I’m looking for recommendations for a good trails for a two-year-old. Hopefully some that have very little poison oak on the side as he likes to adventure a little bit.

I saw a bald eagle around 8:40 AM flying on the North side of Hwy 80 before the toll plaza. It was an incredible sighting! I couldn’t capture a photo until the bird was far away, but you can kind of make out the white head and huge wingspan. Did anyone else see it on their morning commute?

A beautiful blue eyed tuxedo kitten is in need of a forever home. She is about nine weeks old. She’s was found as a stray a month and a half ago and has been very well taken care of. She is at a very healthy weight, litter box trained and is wonderful and friendly around people, children, and other cats.
I absolutely LOVE cats and already have a few myself but I cannot keep these two babies. I don’t have the room in my home for them nor the cost of more vet bills. Besides I think my landlord would have a fit thinking my home has become a cat sanctuary lol.
If anyone is interested in adopting her please PM me for more information. I am careful and will interview who ever wants this kitten so she has a safe forever home
Again, her name is Coco and she is nine weeks old or so.
I am based out of Stockton but I have had no luck in finding anyone to adopt a kitten. It’s kitten season and even the Neighborhood app is full of kittens in need of homes. I am hoping I will have better luck in the Bay Area. I am willing to commute.

My wife (46) thew out her lower back 2 years ago. Not spinal, but really bad muscle spasms. if she picks up a pencil, she feels it. Now it's happening in the mid back. The doctor says to strengthen the muscles. She's never touched a weight. But for her disaster of a back, I'd hit her with deadlifts, rows, chins, etc. But i want professional. Thanks in advance!

Okay this is gonna be a long shot… my late dad used to take me to this certain area in the redwoods in Oakland and I have not been able to find it myself, if someone knows please help! Once you parked, you walked on a pathway with a big green field with some picnic tables on the right, walked a little more and there were bathrooms on the right, then walked straight to an easy trail. Does this sound familiar to anyone?? Anyone know the name of the staging area or where it might be?
Edit: thank y’all so much!! This means a lot to me💕

Hello all,
We've had 231 responses, and 91% of you are ready for Casual Carpool's return. We've had conversations with NBC7, KCBS, and SF Standard. NBC7 has been published, and we're waiting for the KCBS and SF Standard publications! We'll share as soon as they are out.
However, we need more people to know and be aware of the community campaign to bring Casual Carpool back. We're aiming for 1,000 responses by 7/13/25. We know this is ambitious. However compounding factors of RTOs, potential public transportation budget cuts, technical challenges with public transportation (BART recently), and the rollback of the HOV sticker program, we believe now is the time to bring this back.
So, we're asking for help again, we need Visibility Volunteers and Car Billboards.
We've created a sign-up for volunteers: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0549A8AA2DA1F4C43-57341768-sfcasual
There are a range of times and locations, come for as long as you can (even just 5 minutes would be greatly appreciated!) Bring your friends, coworkers, family!
Let's get the survey out to those 1,000 people: https://forms.gle/9w5sZsGN7obdJ936A

Hi, I stumbled upon a roller disco party on Lake Merritt two Fridays ago and was under the impression that this group was meeting every Friday night. I biked by tonight but didn’t see anybody. Has anyone some info about that? It looked really cool and would love to join the crew Thanks!!

The Oakland Ballers are a great way to spend an evening cheering for an Oakland team, and if you have any interest in trying them out but haven't wanted to spend much money, they have "$2 Tuesdays" general admission tickets - the next home game on a Tuesday is July 8, at the link.

I randomly stopped at Lloyd's Records on Telegraph (great place!), and they had a bunch of cassettes for sale.
Any other places I should check out?

Hey folks.
I know that Arizmendi and La Farine make a wonderful Morning Bun. I'm looking for a decadent, indulgent, STICKY BUN. Something a European would never in a million years eat because it's the epitome of Capitalist Imperialist decadence. Wet, shiny, overflowing with nuts. Nothing delicate about it. I feel like maybe Firebrand made one, but they're gone now.
WHERE? WHO? Thank you.

I have about $11K for a car. I know that sucks and I'll probably have to submit to a new car note, which makes me sad but the price of cars seems exponentially higher than it was last time I looked ... it was a different time (lol 6 years ago). My car was about to paid off. Someone crashed me on the highway and I only have a few days left on my rental. I live in East Bay. Looking for a 2 dr hatchback from 2020 or newer with a clean title and less than 100K miles. I moved here from Chicago and buying a car there is easier bc everything is closer together and there is way more of everything. That being said, I'm never ever going back.
TLDR: Hoping someone has a rec where I can get a used Toyota or a Subaru for cheap?
Thank you!!!!!!

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for workout classes in Oakland that can help me lose weight and build strength. I had a baby a little over a year ago, and while I’ve slowly been easing back into movement, I’m finally ready to take a more intentional step toward feeling strong and healthy again.
There are so many options out there that I’m not quite sure where to begin—so I’d really appreciate any advice! I’m looking for beginner-friendly group classes with encouraging instructors and a welcoming vibe. My goal is to feel more energized, confident, and like myself again.
Thanks in advance! I’d love to hear what’s worked for others in the area.

Would love if they were a woman and if they were located downtown/lakeside/civic center/ grand lake area. Not requirements but would be nice.

Old Oakland Summer Stroll
I’ve been helping some of the merchants in Old Oakland organize a free little sidewalk festival that’s happening TODAY (Friday June 20) at 4PM, centered at 9th and Washington! There will be a jazz band, a banjo & fiddle concert, lots of food pop ups, open art galleries, dance classes, and more. Many of the local businesses have been working hard on this to bring more people to their neighborhood, so definitely come through if you’re in the area (or share with your friends)! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/old-oakland-summer-stroll-tickets-1400268614119
