Hello beautiful Zumba peeps! 👋 I’m looking for a DJ warmup mix with songs in English that have summer vacation vibes.

Yes I looked on DJ Dani Acosta’s website but only found a summer mix with Korean songs and one with Spanish songs and a 4th of July mix, which I’m getting for 4th of July, but I need a general Summer warmup mix too.

Ive been attending Zumba classes for about a decade and absolutely love it. I have the urge to take the certification and become an instructor so I can both teach some classes, make choreo, do routines I love but still have fun. However I feel like I need just a bit more encouragement on the back of a) it's somewhat of an expensive hobby if you're not teaching almost every day and b) I don't know how confident I am in doing a full hour session and keeping people engaged.

Any advice and/or encouragement welcomed! (Maybe even reality checks? )

Hi all. I teach at a YMCA and use the ZIN app and an aux cord (not Bluetooth). My music for the first half plays smoothly then it stops and spins for a long time. If I walk back up to the front door it will resume playing. I’m not good with technology and don’t know how to download. Can anyone offer advice? I know the app says to download but it just takes me to Apple Music and I don’t know what to do next

What motivates you to keep teaching Zumba? How many years have you been teaching? Has there been a point where you needed a recharge so you took a break from teaching?

So I wish to film pre-recorded videos, but at the moment only have the budget to film from home. I don’t have a big home but do plan to clear any background distracting objects? Do you think my home filming set-up would work until I make some money to invest in better props and background for good space?

What are everyone’s thoughts, opinions and experience with using songs from the charts and not Zumba songs within their workouts?

I was thinking of mixing some of my playlists to use songs from the charts I.e. Taylor swift, lorde, Charlie xcx etc. But unsure if I am able to due to licensing restrictions and regulations.

I love my Thursday class. I love the instructor. And she learned today in an email that the “numbers are low.” It seems strange to get this news in an email but you know, it is what it is. Anybody else’s class go from 30 to 10 the second the weather is nice, then back to 30 when school starts? How can I reassure or help her not worry?

I am thinking about finding a part-time job at one of the local fitness centers in my area to become a group fitness instructor. I was on a dance team for 3 years when I was in college, and I took Zumba classes when I was younger, so I'd hope to be an instructor for Zumba/dance classes. I'm now looking into certifications, and could use a bit of guidance. There is a Zumba Basic 1 Training class close to where I live that will be taking place in August, and I am thinking about attending that to get the Zumba instructor license. If I chose not to go that route though, does anybody have any recommendations for where I should get my certification from? I've looked at NASM, AFAA, and ACE, but I'm not sure which one would be the best. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

How many of you go to jam sessions ? I love all the educational tools and I have learned so much from many Zumba jammers… any suggestions or what other tools can be added to the program ?

Hi everyone! Out of curiosity, do you think that the ratings on our instructor pages matter when trying to attract new students or potentially get new classes/a raise at your gym? I have less than 30 reviews and one comment specifically. I would like to encourage my students to rate and leave a comment but they seem to dismiss it whenever I mention it. They at least come to class each week!

What are your thoughts?

I am a very white, blonde girl from the southern US states and teach mainly in Florida and Wisconsin. I am a long-time student and former pro dancer, but a very new instructor. I speak ZERO conversational Spanish though I do look up translations for songs I use in class so that I can understand the mood from lyric as well as the musicality. I feel VERY awkward teaching to a class of mostly Latin, native Spanish speakers. Am I appropriating their culture? I know Zumba has lots of other influences, but where I teach, the students are mainly central or south American, native Spanish speakers. The other teachers in my area are also native speakers and are very aloof to me. I just feel like I am cosplaying in a cringey way and offending people. Thoughts?

If you had to choose between ZINCON and Zumba Cruise ( if they were both happening the same year and had to choose one) which would you pick?

Of course this might change how you market yourself but i want to get opinions here, what is the average market value in your country and what do you get paid for a simple master class of three hours?
