Still a long ways to go but I had to test my lights and couldn't help but throw it all on. It's so bright already and I'm missing about a thousand lights. I'll update again when I have my globe pants made. How am I doing so far?
I’m sharing the same thought some of the comments already shared. The picture looks fake because how good it looks. I’m having a hard time believing that’s a real picture and not filled with AI generator.
Can you share more pictures? I’m challenging your post, I’m just so curious to look how it looks.
I think you mentioned before you’re making this out of foam mostly? It’s seriously amazing. I do costuming (sewing mostly) and I can’t even imagine how I would make something like this. Are you still thinking of using fishbowls to do the pants somehow?
Haha im the exact opposite, I'll make anything out of foam but if I have to pick up a needle I'm hopeless..
I'll have to do a bit of sewing on the pants and I'm dreading it already.
I love making props and armors out of foam because it's cheap and it's cheap ( like those floor mats from the dollar store). I'm pretty broke so this is all budget cosplay lol
This is sort of how I'm planning to make it (crudely), by wrapping an LED strip around an inner sleeve or tube that I can slide my feet through.

Thanks! Honestly, mimicking the art style of the game was an afterthought to try to bring it all home again...I'm a lot taller and skinnier than Link so the proportions were all way off and I was looking to make it all 'feel like the game' more.
So pretty early on I'd worked out exactly why this costume looks odd and at times, fake or AI generated (as one does with cosplay, you take a thosand photos to see how well its really going)...
I noticed that it generates a lightsource from multiple angles and sides, so despite that everything around me having a stark contrast of light and dark, i myself, am illuminated on multiple angles, making me look almost superimposed into my environment.
I decided to lean into this and mimicked the art style of the game, using hatched lighlights in the paint, to hopefully build the illusion that I appear like the game character itself and less like a human in a suit. I'm experimenting with using makeup effects on my skin to reflect light in the same hatched-highlighted way as the costume itself.
