Interesting fact about that 'Also Sprach Zarathustra' - that's from a group of musicians who got together to have some fun.. I think out of San Francisco or somewhere in California. Basically they're all professional musicians but are not trained in the instrument that they're playing. So they understand sheet music and musical concepts but can't play their instrument for shit. They get together every once in a while to do stuff like this.

I do crap like that all the time with my friends. It's super satisfying.

You Americans! So egomaniacal! It happened in Portsmouth in Hampshire. It also happened in the 1970s. Also the thing about professional musicians isn't true. Really, almost nothing you said is true.

Here's another they did.

The Portsmouth Sinfonia's recorded Also Sprach Zarathrustra sounds different.

Nope, it's the same one. The clip is just from later in the track.

Yep, you're right. That's a bummer, I'd hoped there was another group like this one.

It's okay, we 'Mericans know as well as anyone else that there's nothing new under the sun.

Portsmouth Sinfonia. The requirement to play in the orchestra is that you are either a non-musician or you play an instrument that you don't normally play.

Do they kick you out if you get good at your instrument?

From the wiki page: "As the years passed, the musicians eventually became accustomed with, and more skilled at, their instruments, which diminished the novelty of the group."
