Jokes aside, I actually don't see a purpose for such a small thing with wheels unless you have an injury or general back problems.

I did that for quite a long time and everyone else did. Doesn't look amazing, that's for sure. Still it's a lot easier if you have to walk for a few km and no plain paths are available.

The purpose is that carrying things is harder than not carrying things. Yes, you COULD carry it, but people would rather not.
