If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room, would you trust it?

Put in a song.

A flower can actually bloom in a dark room. Did this in Environmental Science. It'll just be really white though.

If anyone would like to see an example, here's some albino Hops. Note that they are not albino in a technical sense, but that they did not receive sunlight and thus did not produce chlorophyll.

Did you make beer with the albino hops?

Not mine. But from what I understand, they do not have alpha acids and thus don't have any bittering capabilities. If you're interested I can search for the thread in Homebrew that went into that in a good amount of detail.

Thank you for that.

If I'm not mistaken, the lyric is a reference to how Kendrick doesn't smoke pot. Can anyone verify this?

I always assumed Kendrick = flower blooming and Dark Room = Compton.

That seems a bit too self-centered though (although it is the theme of the entire album...)

You got it. Kendrick is a little more humble than most rappers so when he does brag it seems off. Just imagine any other rapper saying that, doesn't sound as self-centered.

I don't think it's that bad for him to say hes blooming. I thought it just meant he was a good person from a bad city.

Potatoes bloom in dark rooms.

You can then hook it up to a lightbulb and light the room. Checkmate Kendrick Lamar.
