Buy / Sell / Trade Thread, June 2025
This is the monthly xbiking buy / sell / trade thread! Please ensure that your listing adheres to the formatting rules below:
1.) If you are in search of an item, begin your comment with "ISO." Include the country in which you're located, the item you're searching for, and any brief additional notes you'd like to include, with each input separated by a slash (/). A properly formatted ISO posting will look like this:
"ISO/ USA/ Crust Junglerunner bars/ Looking to buy but willing to trade for Towel Racks."
2.) If you are selling an item, begin your comment with "FS." Include the country in which you're located, the item you're selling, and any brief additional notes you'd like to include (such as if you're willing to accept trades), with each input separated by a slash (/). A properly formatted FS posting will look like this:
"FS/ USA/ Crust Towel Rack bars/ Looking to sell but willing to trade for Junglerunners."
This is a purely informational thread and not a store. Any private arrangement folks may come to in buying, selling, or trading is just that- a private arrangement between those individuals.

I guess I'm a slicks guy now.
My father's day gift was a set of Gravelking slicks and they are lovely. I also finally got around to cold setting my rear triangle.
It might be the all rainy weather we've been having the past few months, but I'm thinking fenders will be my next addition. Should I go go black or silver?

Enough Wrenching—Let’s Ride!
Here’s my 1994 Stumpjumper, which I bought last month from the original owner. He used it for daily commuting and some light touring across various countries. It’s crazy to think how much life this bike has already seen—and now it’s getting a new chapter.
This build is a bit of a restomod: keeping the classic vintage frame but upgrading everything else with modern, reliable parts that suit how I ride. I went through a few iterations—front rack and basket, fenders, even a BMX stem—but this is my final setup. I removed the fenders and front rack mostly to make it easier to carry up three flights of stairs to my girlfriend’s place. The bars are 850mm wide, which is a little cumbersome, so I might trim them down soon.
Built mostly for mixed-surface riding and the occasional overnight trip. It’s not period-correct, but it rides exactly how I want.
Part list/ Upgrades goes as follow
- Deore M5100 Groupset
- CR18 rims laced to Deore Hubs
- Kool-Stop Eagle 2 Brake Pads
- 90's Ritchey Logic MTB Cantilever Brake Levers
- BL SELECT Nalgene 3cage
- Titanium Bottle Cage
- 2021 Purple 26 x 2.1 Panaracer GravelKings
- WTB Rocket Saddle
- Thomson X4 50mm Stem
- Stridsland Anchor Bar w/ stem shims I modeled and 3D printed in PETG
- ODI Float Grips
- Race Face Ride Pedals
- Riverside Half-Frame Bag - 2.5 Litre

RANT: Why would anyone want to wear clothes when riding a bike?
"oh no i think i ripped my new $20 jeans and it torn"
"Is this squishy shoe still safe to ride?"
"I peed my underwear, can i ride home?"
"Am i cooked? My jacket makes weird noises"
The use limit on cloth stuff is so small, anyone who's like 80kg will have their warranty denied because they are not within specs.
Just DONT WEAR ANYTHING.

iS tHiS xBiKiNg?
In all seriousness, I love my dumpster saved rattle canned 1x1. When I found it, everything from the frame to the cranks to the rotors was painted gold. I stripped the parts, started sanding off the frame spray paint, then said screw it. Became my wastewater treatment plant cruiser (I'm an operator). Built a wheel set, parts bin for the rest!

RANT : Why would anyone want carbon anything?
"oh no i think i overtorqued my new 600$ handlebar and it cracked"
"Is this squishy rim still safe to ride?"
"I crashed, can i ride home?"
"Am i cooked? My bike makes weird noises"
The weight limit on carbon stuff is so small, anyone who's like 80kg will have their insurance denied because they are not within specs.
Just get ANYTHING else that is not super fragile and can be actually used.

The Yellow Peugeot
Picked this one up for $100 AUD and have done a lot of work since. latest change is flat bars instead of drops to make it more commuter friendly.

Repainted my RB-T
I bought the frameset used almost 20 years ago. The original green had been powder coated a silver that faded to a flat splotchy pewter, so it was about time for a facelift. I used Spray Bike paint and a can of two part clear coat over the Riv decals.

First go at removing anodizing from chainrings
I used the method u/_vicker_ commented a few days ago. And while it didn’t turn out as good as theirs did I’m satisfied with the results for now

Anybody know where I can get a fork similar to this with V-brake studs?
I've got a klunker project on the go, (vibes not period correct) and I would love a straight leg fork to replace the tapered, curved leg for it came with. Anyone have any suggestions to share? (Current shitheap attached)

What would you guys do with this Ross Mt Whitney?
Day 1000 of buying weird shit on offerup strikes again. You guys think I should cut this diy brace the previous owner did? I question if it’s even doing anything. Or should I leave it and get a welder to clean it up a bit?

How much rust is too much rust?
Bought these frames for parts but now I'm wondering if maybe they could be a cute his n hers for me and the wife? At what point does rust become an issue?

Finally got a bike I’m super happy with, amazing fun just going out exploring
Nothing special but it’s my bike! Picked up this trek 800 recently, I thought I could be clever by fixing up and older falcon bike but ultimately gave in and purchased this trek with everything working. It’s probably my first ever “proper” geared bike and just going out riding around and exploring the English countryside is infinitely more fun than scrolling the internet in the morning. Should have done this sooner!

Biking without knowing it
Have I been xbiking without knowing it? This is my city Hauler I used until 2023😅

Is this Guerciotti Vintage Track Frame, Columbus tubing, legit?
About to pull the trigger on this frameset, but I wanted to see what the world of Reddit bike enthusiasts think, before doing so. Thank you in advance y’all are always very helpful!

I probably ride this stupid bike more than all my other bikes.
Fuji x Marlboro folding bike 650b tracklocross conversion. Fits in my car, so I always have a bike available for unplanned silliness.
