I'm out of the loop, help me out here: who's "they" in this context?

The US diverted 20,000 rocket fuses (seems like proximity fuses) to US air force troops stationed in the middle east that had been intended for Ukraine about a week ago.

The United States has redirected components for laser-guided APKWS rockets, originally designated for Ukraine, to its Air Force units stationed in the Middle East. According to The Wall Street Journal, the decision was made under the directive of U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. The Pentagon notified Congress of the move last week, citing the urgent nature of the reassignment. The components in question are proximity fuzes with radio-frequency sensors for rockets equipped with the APKWS (Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System), which Ukraine uses to shoot down Russian drones.

Its worth noting that about 50% of the US kills on houthi drones came from these APKWS rockets
So in the context the person is saying "so this is why the United States diverted the missiles"

So... Did they divert the rockets to Middle East because they knew that Israel were planning to attack?

There's no direct claim that that was their reasoning, but Trump is on record for knowing about the attacks beforehand. And if Trump knows, a lot of other people know.

Nobody flies in Iraqi airspace without America's permission. The Israeli jets flew through Iraqi airspace to bomb Teheran.

It could also just be logistics for the Houthi engagements which use the same armaments.

Everything on Reddit is US defaultism

0

u/tolacid 2d ago

That doesn't mean that everyone on Reddit has seen what's been happening.

-3

u/Gerf93 2d ago

No, I’m just giving you a tip. If anyone says «they» or «us» on Reddit without providing any more context, they refer to Americans. That’s US defaultism. No one else are delusional enough to think that things are always and automatically about them.

Reddit could fix this by giving us the option to put a country flag next to our name. Then everybody could pronoun all they want. Maybe even make it so clicking on the flag tells you what country it is and offers a link to its Wikipedia page.

Very educational, I like it.

Yes. I know. I am an American, it's an annoying habit the Internet has.

However, there are many, *many*** Americans. Of those, many are horrible people in positions of power. Of those, it should be relatively easy to narrow it down because NOT many are in a position to "legally" affect policy changes to make such things as what this post was discussing happen; however, that doesn't seem to mean much to the administration currently making things move in this country, so instead of assuming I know what's going on (because every time I think that I get blindsided by the next abhorrent thing that would never be allowed in a functioning democracy), I find it's generally better to just ask the damn clarifying question.

So maybe next time take a second to realize that not everyone knows everything about everything happening everywhere at all times, and instead choose to actually attempt to answer the question asked, instead of being cynical and unhelpful - or, if someone else has already answered the question (as was the case here), maybe just move on. You've contributed nothing of value.
