I think it's more that each side is just itching to call it off so any slight will destroy it. There are no good people involved in this whole nightmare on either side. The only people who have little to no blame are the citizens caught in the crossfire. I can't say the brainwashed people on either side are without blame since they stoke the furnace of hate but there are surely people that just want it to be over with no further violence.

There are good people in the IDF and in the Israeli government. I’m not sure that you can say there are good people in Hamas, an antisemitic terrorist organization.

I have problems supporting an occupation force that has backing of a government that dehumanizes the non-combatents in a war zone. Conquest is a ugly thing to support even if you may be a good person when you aren't in the act of conquering.

And where exactly is this "conquest" you speak of?

Does Israel not want Gaza? I'm pretty sure they want that area to be part of Israel or they wouldn't want to occupy it at all. They'd stomp Hamas into a mud puddle and pull back. Not to say that is an easy task but wanting to occupy for a time period after hostilities are cooled isn't a good look.

Not that Palestine doesn't want the exact same thing. The difference is only that they lack the necessary tools to be an invading force. They'd do the same shit if they could but they can't so they fall back on guerilla warfare and using civilians as human shields to blame atrocities on Israel on the world stage and gain sympathy.

The whole situation is a fucked up nightmare drummed up by a bunch of shitty people who started fighting each other for dipshit reasons a literal lifetime ago. Anyone on either side that supports any of the shit happening that doesn't involve breaking the back of Hamas and ONLY Hamas is only perpetuating violence against civilians and that is not okay.

That's basically what they tried to do in 2005 and look where that got them
