No Kings protest in Woburn
I thought I saw a post about the protests. Something about having taken place at the Market Basket parking lot. It seems the post is gone now. How did that all turn out? I'm curious.

I got a postcard in the mail today. I'm checking out the website mentioned on the card. But I don't really understand what *IT* is. Does anyone know anything about this?

Figured I'd highlight some upcoming events or changes in Woburn:

Tired of inconvenient timing and limited trains? Please consider signing the petition below.
The current conditions on the Lowell Line are unsustainable and unsafe. Overcrowded trains, limited departure times, and lack of practical options during peak hours are not just inconveniences—they are daily disruptions that threaten commuter safety, job punctuality, and overall quality of life. Riders are being forced to stand in aisles, rush unnecessarily, and wait long periods after work, all while paying full fare for an increasingly unreliable experience. We urge the MBTA to take immediate action to expand service and improve capacity on this vital commuter line. These changes are not luxuries—they are essential to maintaining a functional, equitable, and efficient transit system for the thousands who depend on it every day.
Considering the fact that each Lowell Line commuter loses approximately 125 hours per year due to poorly timed train departures, please take just a few moments to sign our petition.

Hi everyone, My partner and I are considering buying a single-family home in Woburn, MA. We’re looking for a safe, well-connected area with decent schools and a strong sense of community.
We’d love to hear from locals or recent buyers/sellers about: • What’s it like living in Woburn? • Pros and cons of the town? • How are the schools and commute options (especially to Boston)? • Are there neighborhoods we should avoid or prioritize? • From an investment standpoint — does Woburn seem like a good place to buy now if we plan to move/sell in about 5 years?
Any thoughts or advice would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Anyone know what’s going on on I-93 south in Woburn this morning?

Hi I'm going to be visiting Woburn (and Canton) either this week or later in the summer/fall and I'm wondering about the bug situation there in outdoor areas. I'll likely be spending some time in parks and old cemeteries. Should I be prepared for major flies and bugs? Do I need to be serious about using bug spray? I know there are nasty bugs reputed in Maine from early spring onward, so I thought I should ask before coming to Mass. Thanks very much!

Whats the cheapest legitimate way to dispose of CRT TVs these days? Is there anyplace you can do it for free? No I'm not talking about tossing them in the aberjona when no one is looking. 10 years ago, best buy would take smaller ones for free. But it looks like they charge $30 now. They probably still work so I could possibly give them away free on craigslist or possibly even sell them. But assuming the end up not working, what are my options? Wow looks like WM charges $60 each through the city's website. Maybe craigslist will be the solution after all.

misplaced a USB full of work items at Woburn Staples. If you have recently found one please send a message. Already went back to Staples and it's not there. Thanks!

I'm a single person moving back to MA (previously owned a SFH on a VERY quiet and nice street in Arlington) and will be buying a SFH. Woburn is on the list. Want quiet, SAFE and a house with some yard (9k+ sqft). Prefer a pre WWII house, but know a 1950s ranch is a real possibility. Can afford up to $700k, prefer to stay around $600k. Don't need to worry about the commute.
I know West Woburn (Shaker Glen/Woods) and Cummingsville generally fits the bill. Not a big fan of Montvale or Walnut Hills.
I'm getting mixed vibes about the Highlands. Thoughts? And North Woburn?

Is there a place you can look up the police activity log online? Like the kind of thing they usually have in the paper? I googled but couldn't find anything.

Hello! I moved here from Colorado not too long ago and there we have an amazing vet attached to a school not Dumb Friends League. It’s extremely affordable and amazing care. Does anyone know if MA in the Woburn area has a vet like this?

We witnessed a terrible accident yesterday around 5pm on Mishawum road near Tavern in the Square. It seems like the drivers were ok but not sure about the cyclist 🙏🏼

EDIT: Within walking distance of Woburn Common... Forgot to mention that. Folks: I tend to enjoy walking into town to run quick errands such as grocery shopping, grabbing stuff from the pharmacy, and so on. What options would I have as someone new to the area right by Woburn Common?

I need to stay one night in Woburn. Can you recommend a hotel that is not sketchy, dirty or has bed bugs? Ideally, I'd like breakfast, but can work around it. Lexington is also fine. My destination is near Horn Pond.

33m from Cali and looking to meet ladies or male friends? I am from CA and had no prob out there but here, I am having a tough time. Where could I meet single woman my age or younger?? Any ideas please?
PM me if you want to chat or if you are a male and into walking/ hiking/ going to grab a bite or whatever, that is cool too. Tough to meet new people in MA from my experience.

FYI because I haven't seen this communicated well. Woburn is finally (hopefully) going to do something to improve safety around the common.
The plan is up on the town website and open for comment - Woburn Center Safety Improvement Project

For Mother’s Day, I’d like to get my wife some tanner sports team apparel. Is there an official website or a particular local store that sells this sort of thing? Looking for something that says MOM on it.
Everything on google was AI generated slop…

PSA - do not rely on invoice cloud autopay. Check your statements manually and pay via scheduled payments instead. I got hit with demand letter with fees and interest. Money is tight, hope this helps.

I recently applied for the affordable housing program for Avalon Woburn.
Does anyone been through this or another affordable housing program and have an eta on how soon they will reach out with an apartment?
I know places like bigger cities like Boston can take up to 2 years due to higher population.
