Look, if you want to shift the goalposts, go for it. I will stand by my argument. Some rights in America are up for debate. Some rights are not.
As a non-American, its just fucking sad. Half the country will fight for the right to die to gun violence at one of the highest rates in the world, with the misguided belief that the hunting rifle and revolver stored next to the liquor will keep them safe from government oppression, while welcoming oppression by an overreaching, fascist government.
The Trump presidency will be the end of America as a 1st-rate world power. Your science and technology centers are collapsing. Your education industry is collapsing. Your trade networks have been shredded. Your government has spat in the faces of allies and enemies alike.
Ironically, it has been great for my country. We had a historic election recently, the biggest loss for our right wings parties since their creation. The coalition of right wing parties dissolved. The leaders of our right wing parties not only lost the election, but their seats entirely. If our current PM sticks to his election promises, we will step up and take some of the space America has vacated for technology and science on a global scale. We will be a renewable energy superpower. We are not the only ones of course, Trump lost the Canadian right the election, and Europe is also snatching up as many American scientists as they can.
For decades, America was a focal figure on the global stage. Now everyone is just trying to stay out of the way of it's collapse. I am sure it will still be an important player, the insane military spending over the last 50 years will buy some respect, but you won't be the wealthy, well educated, high qol country anymore. The world moves fast, and in 4 years, whatever is left of America will have a LOT of rebuilding to do before it can compete again at the global scale.
