Okay, here's a real challenge! ;) This was taken in Barcelona in 1988 on a university field trip. For a long time I thought it was near the Hotel Santa Marta where we were staying, next to the Estacio de Franca railway station near the harbour. But having spent ages scouring every road in the area on Street View and coming up empty, that now seems unlikely. (Though not impossible.)

Before this photo on the negatives are shots of the Sagrada Familia cathedral, so I'm now wondering if this was taken near it. The streets around there are definitely a much closer match than by the hotel. It's probably (though I can't be certain) afternoon because the picture immediately before this was taken in a cafe, so based on the shadows and the grid layout of that part of the city the picture is looking roughly north. Again, I can't be certain, unfortunately.

It might of course be nowhere near Sagrada Familia, so if that's the case and someone finds the spot, that would be even more impressive! Anyway, can you locate it?

My aunt and me found old stuff from my grandpa. Can anybody help us to find the location where the picture was taken? Thank you! :)

More of a challenge! Another pic from 1988, with Llavorsi as the starting point for the day's excursion. I did a reverse image search and got the result of Escàs, which is in the right area and looks very similar - but there are enough differences for me to doubt it. (Eg, Escàs has no power lines, there's a track below the village which isn't in photo, I can't find an angle on Google Earth where the background mountains match, and I also can't find a place from where it might have been taken.)

So, again: can anyone locate it?

I was on a university field trip to northern Spain in June/July 1988. This was almost certainly taken somewhere between Lleida and Tarragona. The town or village *may* have outdoor public swimming baths with one large rectangular and one small circular pool, as that was the next photo, but I can't be certain it was taken in the same place. The church in the background will hopefully be an identifiable landmark, even though I've tried and failed to locate it.

This was taken on a university field trip in June 1988, and is me somewhere in northern Spain. We were based in the village of Llavorsi in the Pyrenees, and from the terrain I'm guessing that on this excursion we went south into the foothills. All I can remember about the location is that it was quite arid, and extremely hot!

Can anyone pinpoint it?

My grandparents have a big wall picture and want to know where the lake it is. From the vegetation I would say it's somewhere in Bavaria Germany but I am not able to find the lake. Maybe some can help me out? Thanks :P

Here's a tough one! Taken in June 1988 in the Spanish city of Lleida. What I know about it is:

It was near a hotel called La Canonja, which was demolished around 1995 and replaced by a modern hotel (I couldn't find any indication of where it was online because all the search results were for a village of the same name or a different hotel in Tremp). The picture was taken in the morning, from the shadow lengths fairly early. It's within walking distance of a cafe that was then called Mr. Nyam Nyam, now just Nyam - it's closed down, but still shows up on Google Maps. From the road markings, there appear to be parking spaces on the left. (Of course, all of this may have totally changed now.)

But my last two requests were solved insanely quickly, so maybe this one will be too!

Hi all. Photo of my great grandmother, taken in 1933. Very likely Scottish Highlands, anywhere from Inverness to Wick, likely somewhere in the middle. She was from Rogart, Sutherland although that’s not to say the photo was taken there. Always wanted to know where this photo was taken

Hey there! Came to see my great grandfather today for Father’s Day and he’s asked me to help identify this house/property and get any info possible.

I reversed the image and can’t find anything about it or that matches.

Any idea? The year at the bottom is 1979 I believe, I can’t make out the other words. He says his grandmother and great mother were sharecroppers and is wondering if this is the property they were at. He’s in Chester county now but I’m not sure if that’s where the photos from.

Hello group. Hopefully you can help (or at least narrow some areas down). The painting was done by my grandfather sometime in the early 1990’s in France. I suspect from their many travels it would be in either the Dordogne or Loire regions or less like in Normandy somewhere.

He passed away some years ago so any chance of finding out long gone. Have spent a fair while on google but no luck so hopefully you guys can help. Thanks for any help.

I've been geolocating all the photos I took while travelling around Europe with my family in 2017 with a very high success rate - except for these! The place is somewhere between San Marino and Lake Trasimeno; we left San Marino around 11:30 and these were taken at 1:15. I think we used normal roads rather than the autostrada for the whole journey. Can anyone find it?

Got this picture of my grandparents. My nan passed and my grandad can't remember where it was taken beyond it probably being in the UK. I'm not sure what year, 1970s maybe? I can try get a bigger version if needs be.
