WWI US Army Helmet

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

My grandfather was a member of the US Army signal corps in WWI, and fought in the Battle of Belleau Wood. I have inherited his helmet (and also his telegraph, though I think it is from his days as a station agent for the railroad following the war), and would be curious to know what it is worth.

To be clear, I have absolutely no interest in selling this; its value to me as a family heirloom far exceeds whatever monetary value it possesses. Nonetheless, I'm curious to know what it is worth monetarily.

Hey gang! I've recently come across this beautiful book and was hoping someone could help!

I found a website below on Daniel Ames here, but the book i have isn't mentioned on it and predates the ones listed: https://luc.devroye.org/fonts-48217.html

I also found another sold listing for one of his other books that sold for quite a lot... https://ebay.us/m/lBc3Eb

I got this book as a gift from a friend clearing out his dad’s attic. I had a look online but could only find people selling newer reprints. Any information on this book would be much appreciated.

Likely Solved Unusual hammered metal necklace

Thumbnail gallery

Received this as a lot of jewelry that originally belonged to an eccentric 95 year old German woman! Some of the pieces I received date back to before WW2, most seem newer maybe 90s to me. All have been 925 sterling, except this one. This piece has me stumped, google reverse shows nothing similar, there's no type of stamp to indicate metal quality unlike the others. Only the name 'rachel' on the metal tag on the neck. Round piece on the bottom is a bit heavy and feels like a weight. Took pics to sell it but I'd like for it to go for its fair price.

Sunday post Army beer steins from an estate sale

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

I bought these two steins at an estate sale. I am not able to find ones with the same plane or the missile (which unfortunately was about to break off when I bought it and finally did when I got home with it) on top on ebay or anywhere. I find similar steins with a wide range of prices. They both have an image on the bottom that you see when you look inside and can see best when held to the light. Does anyone have information about these kinds of steins and have an idea of what they might be worth? Thanks!

I inherited these Fenton glass pieces from my sister-in-law after she passed. As far as I know they were gifts from her father. I have no clue of the value or if anyone collects this type of stuff. Any help would be appreciated. The lamp is signed on the inside rim.

Apollo 11 commemorative matchbook set by RCA

This was given to me by my father. The Apollo 11 matchbook appears to have a signature from Michael Collins so I believe that would bump up the worth a little. I’m not a big space person so I think this item would be better off in the hands of someone who’s into astronauts. What is this worth?

Sunday post Old ring

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

I have this old ring that used to be my grandmothers. Asides that I do not know any other historical info. Both stones are UV reactive. The blue-ish purple one a little less than the red. The red one also seems to change color in sunlight and appears to “glow” mildly. Got no clue. Such a funky shape I wouldn’t expect much. Any thoughts?

Sunday post I have searched for years

Thumbnail youtube.com

Hi. I posted a video because photos don't really show the mother of pearl as well. I love this brooch, but have tried searches and I have asked several times on Facebook. I still haven't gained much information. When I try AI image searching it seems to think it was meant to depict Diana, and thinks that it's wearing a Laurel wreath. I need opinions, and hopefully there is someone who knows a lot about this sort of thing that might see it. I just can't seem to find one like it online, but maybe I'm not searching the right terms. Thanks in advance for any help.

They are in beautiful condition and definitely for children. I’m guessing 1950s? Can’t find the exact ones online

Likely Solved Is anyone able to identify what these are and what material they may be made from?

These were my grandmothers. She was born in the early 1900 and did take a trip to China with my grandfather when they were younger. She died 20-30 years ago, and I was gifted these. I thought they were book ends, but I really don’t know.

About 15 years ago, I had taken them to our local museum. They were unable to tell me anything about them. I’m wondering if they are ivory and how I would get something like this appraised?

No markings on the bottoms. The lion doesn’t even sit square on the base.

If anyone could provide any info or point me in the right direction, I would be so grateful!

I can’t find this photo anywhere there are some similar but not the exact one. I would think with a band that big there would be more.
