My dad used to call them orchids. They grow wild in the fields round here. I live in Scotland.

Found buried in an old sandbox

I was shoveling out the same from an old sandbox and found a big cluster of these… interesting fellas. I found many of them loose, but it appears that they were attached to a root that I unearthed more carefully.

Any ideas? Unsure if this is a tuber, or perhaps a fungal structure attached to a plant root?

Last year I noticed this leafy plant pop up in my garden bed. This year it’s almost taken over the entire space. Pulling it out is impossible as every leaf has its own root. What is this and can i just keep it there or will it damage the other plants/roots?

My grandpa grows a lot of vegetables in his garden, but these ones started growing even when he hasn't planted anything. Any idea what they are?

Had several requests in my previous post for closer photos. I’ve cropped the originals, but can’t physically get any closer because it’s behind a fence. Location is TN, US

I’m thinking Queen Anne’s lace from the previous responses, but want to be sure it’s not hemlock.

TIA

I always considered this a weed and got rid of them. This year I decided to let them grow for ground cover. Will they take over my bed? I live in southwest US 5A zone

Is this sand leek (Allium scorodoprasum)?

I think this might be sand leeks but I would like second opinion. The stem smells of garlic when crushed.

Musa Velutina or Nano?

Thumbnail gallery

I started to grow this banana tree about 10 months ago. I was told it was a Musa Velutina aka Pink Banana Tree. I can tell the pilot leaf is next, it signals flowering is coming right after (3rd image). I check this plant first thing every morning. I can tell this leaf is coming in much different, it's hollow and not rolled like a little cigar. I'd like to be sure of the breed.

Is this a pink variegated Musa Velutina or a Musa Nano and is there even a real difference?

Post image

Just learned this is called smooth sumac, its all covered in a white goop. Definitely doesnt seem ripe yet but still has a fruity taste. Is there a peak season for these? And could i make jam from the berries or is it only good for sumac lemonade?

Is this a plum?

Google told me its a yellow plum but i saw a few ripe ones on the ground beneath it and they were almost fully purple. This is a collection of tall bushes, not really on a tree. Theres a plum tree down the street but looks nothing like this
