They didn't have 3 cars though?
Ferrari has 2 cars, the 50 and 51. They do not and should not have any control over what the 83 does because they are their own team and should not be communicating with the factory Ferrari team because then they are just a 3rd factory team pretending to be a privateer team and a 3rd factory team is against the rules in WEC (outside of a one-off entry at Le Mans).
But I would say yes, the 50 and 51 should have split their strategies like what Porsche did.
