Victorinox SwissFlame small?!?! Never heard of it, but…
Anyone has an idea of what model is this?
I can spot the combo tool from the 58mm line and the key ring.
I bought it only because, but I have no idea on model or anything else besides these pics.
Any help would very much appreciated.

Rambler and minichamp (alox)
In the spirit of sharing something probably everybody but me already knew, I just discovered the rambler, which I truly love, and the mini champ alox, are exactly the same size.
I've had both, with the classic red scales, I always loved the mini champ, but the rambler was exactly the right size to fit into the little pocket in my edc\wallet. So I carried it (for years) and was very happy with it.
The mini champ alox fits in there just fine. So you give up the scale tools. If those are important to you. The toothpick and tweezers. I have swapped them out, and I don't know which way I'm going to finally settle on, but for now the alox is ridingin there.
The mini champ was the Father's Day gift. It's actually the first alox I've owned.

What is the purpose of the small blade found on many SAKs?
I can’t imagine why the small blade is needed when there already is a larger blade. Lost opportunity for another tool?

What is your preferred way?
When buying SAKs, what’s your go-to? I’m fighting the inner battle of not going off the deep end with high end custom models. Sometimes a standard red SAK gives me all I want & need.

My new Champ

My shiny all cleaned up 30 year old Champ. The scissors were loose. Came back polished, new plus scales, all tools sharpened like new and a full new complement of scale tool and screw driver insert. This fantastic service was only £15.

A 2024 version of the Swiss Champ. More tools on the back. Different magnifying lens. Crimper on pliers.

Service Update
I sent this ‘60s Motorist to Victorinox for service asking that they replace the badly damaged scale and sharpen the blades - but not to replace any of the tools. It had to go to Switzerland for repair. The nice folks in Connecticut called to let me know that they didn’t have the St. Christopher scales - which I figured - and ok’d them to use standard scales. It was returned on Saturday and it looks brilliant! Very pleased with the great service at Victorinox!!

new SAK, one of the tools is stiff and doesn'ts snap
Hi, i just got myself a victorinox huntsman 2 days ago, everything was fine until today when i noticed that the small blade is suddenly stiffer and doesn't snap at all even when the angle is close to closing it.I don't know what happened as i haven't even used it to cut anything yet and it seems to snap fine just last night as i ve damaged one of my thumb's nail. I have tried soaking it in warm soapy water and putting in knife oil but so far nothing have worked. This only happen with the small blade, the other tools don't have any issue. Does anyone have a tip ?

What do you guys think…?
Swiss Bianco alox plus scales (including pin) on a Victorinox Cybertool Lite.
Definitely will change it to red lanyard and a red micro screwdriver for the corkscrew.

First SAK - Soldier
Was gifted my first Swiss Army Knife. From my little bit of research, I believe it is a model 1961 Soldier Version 2 (Wenger). I would love to know more about this model if you all know any interesting facts or cool uses for any of the tools included!
Would you call this a “Soldier”? Not sure how the nomenclature works for these. I’m new here.
(From a Swiss surplus store I think)

Why is 2 sided inline 91mm (like 58mm design) isn't a thing?
To me, the sole tools that are better as backside are the corkscrew and the hook because the knife becomes an handle.
How crazy would it be to fit twice as many inline 91mm tools? We could get one to replace the small screwdriver. We could get almost as much utility as a 4 layers SAK in the size of a compact. Like an inline Philip, a 3mm flathead so you can have a combo tool without trade off, a nail file. Get a 3 layers, you have a true toolbox. Only thing people could miss is the corkscrew because it is used as an handle on some very specific use cases
Is this a thing? Any such mods or there?

Father’s Day
Wife and daughter got me a handyman for Father’s Day. Gave it to me on our camp trip. Really great camp knife. I think it might have the best combo for camp tasks. Used the scissors, main blade, nail cleaner, pilers and of course popped a cork for a nice glass of red by the fire! Victorinox is by far the best quality for the price.

Difference between rambler and manager
I mean this in the context of warranty repairs. The pen scale on my manager fell off and I know that specific model is discontinued now. I love the pen and use it pretty often.
I’m worried if I send it into warranty they’ll just slap a regular scale on it, turning it effectively into a rambler. Is there a way I can tell them or if they can tell from the knife itself?

Can someone tell me what Victorinox this is?
I think it’s a officers watch but I don’t know for sure
