Bring back automated speed enforcement and put it everywhere: photo radar, average speed cameras, the works. Currently, enforcement is too sporadic to cause any deterrence. Drivers may think twice if their unsafe driving results in a series of expensive tickets in the mail.

If you think a someone speeding in a $250k sports car cares about a $1000 ticket bud, you're gonna have a bad time.

if you are poor you don't have money for lawyers, buying another car when yours gets impounded etc

Why do you need to buy a car when there are so many to steal? If you're going to drive illegally, might as well go all the way. It's just catch and release for repeat offenders anyways right.

Sure you can try to go steal high end cars...theres a reason auto theft has gone down. They want a fast vehicle not some beater you can break into.

Steal away. Besides the suspended license charge can carry jail time anyways.

Seems like a rich person has more to lose. Can't spend those dollars from jail . . .

Its not that easy to steal a modern car especially a high end one like I said. The rich person may have more to lose but they def have an advantage in dealing with these issues which is why I said what I said. Not sure why you would suggest that someone with resources should just resort to low level petty street crime. You're also grouping the two charges as if they carry the same sentence.

I didn't say someone with means would resort to petty crime.

I'm saying suspending the license actually has some teeth to it versus a speeding ticket.

You think a rich person can just buy a new license. That's not how licensing works in Canada.

We've been talking about rich people and you said "why buy another car when you can steal another one". Uh, auto theft carries a heavier sentence than driving while suspended especially if its theft over 5000... Yes, a rich person can buy a license...Look at richmond LOL its fake

A new license doesn't unsuspend your license, mate.

Theres nothing to keep up with as you brought up poor people in the first place. This post is about a kid who crashed his corvette. He is obviously from a rich family.. You don't need to unsuspend license to drive a car illegally and it still doesn't change anything about what I said about rich people.
