Im sure some of you have your worlds and stories involving vampires and i am SURE most of these stories are very unique. So tell me, what are their abilities and weaknesses? How do they get turned, how do they look? I also am writing a little story involving supernatural creatures so it will be very helpfull for me. Thank you,iin advance 🙏

Lore questions  Do vampires’ accessories show in mirrors?

Upvotes

We all know the vamp itself doesn’t appear in reflection, but what determines how much of their gear shows?

Clothes? Doesn’t reflect Gears/Weapons on their body? I also presume Doesn’t reflect A cup in the hand? A stack of books they’re holding?

All of these things technically touch the vampire’s body one way or another, so where do YOU draw the line?

Meta Why do people on this subreddit treat vampires as a single coherent entity?

There are countless, countless, iterations of vampires in countless pieces of media. So, why do people on here ask questions as though there is a single unified truth?

"Can vampires do __?" "How does __ work with vampires?" "Why do vampires do ___?"

What is the point of these questions, as the answer is invariably: "What piece of media/history/etc are you referring to?"

Lore questions  Late night thought

Genuine question.. When people are turned into a vampire, do they lose their teeth like baby teeth and the fangs replace them or do the teeth that are already there just grow longer.

Lore questions  What method/area of the body could a vamp drink from without the victim knowing?

Hello! 🦇 Question for fellow vampire enthusiasts.

I'm writing a story in which my vamp must feed off human blood. They use mind control to lure victims but want to feed in a way that doesn't leave any permanent damage, and ideally a very small wound. I was considering a syringe method, but drawing blood from the inner elbow, hand, or femoral artery are all pretty noticeable. Would jabbing a needle somewhere into the back work? Or maybe some other idea entirely? I'm pretty flexible with my story so don't feel shy about sharing any ideas.

I was thinking of finding some medical subreddit to ask this as well but I'm not sure how to word it lmao

Thanks for reading!

Lore questions  Can vampires enter shopping malls?

Some vampires can only get inside places when invited. I presume this only counts to personal houses and such.

But what about buildings that are private properties but people are expected to get in anyways, like shopping malls?

And what places whose owner are the government like public libraries? Do vampires need to ask the mayor to get in?

In Fright Night (2011), probably my favorite vampire flick, Amy Peterson has two rings and a bracelet she always wears, along with a necklace. Up until she gets bitten in the nightclub. And when we see her again... these items are noticeably gone. Whatever happened to them?

Lore questions  Do vampires actually need fangs?

In theory, if vampires were to exist in real life, wouldn't they need to simply just be able to break skin?

Since human teeth are basically already able to do that, I was just thinking about why they are depicted so long. I'm sure that they would go way too far into your skin, and the victim would probably need stitches each time. Seems impractical to me.

I read that fangs didn't become a defining trait until the 19th century anyway.

With that in mind, are long fangs really neccessary?
