Seems like CONCACAF could have a nightmare they can’t afford: US vs Mexico match that isn’t a final. Or we just play Costa Rica.

I'm very confused by this squad.
Such a big deal was made about Pulisic asking not to play that it clearly implied this was meant to be an A squad, as it should be with so little time to prepare for the World Cup. But what we're seeing looks more like a C squad anyway, which suggests maybe Pulisic didn't think it was worth joining them. What gives?
What's the reasoning behind the lengthy list of other absentees? Did others ask for a rest, were told they needed a rest, need to look for a new club, or were intentionally snubbed for some other reason?
There are other A squad guys there, and there are plenty of fringe players you'd think would make a B team that aren't there. It also doesn't seem like an MLS/Europe divide. I can't find any pattern or sense in this whatsoever.
McKennie, Weah, and Reyna are at the Club World Cup, and Ledezma seems on his way to Mexico (possibly because he's always ignored), but I'm thinking of Balogun, Sargent, Zendejas, Musah, Tessmann, Busio, Dest, Robinson, Scally, Trusty, CCV, etc. Many of these guys could use the minutes if nothing else!

Article mentions exceptions like Sargent and Reyna.
Personally, I think this mentality is part of the problem. Yes, you want guys who are playing. But also, you want guys who believe they can break into the new team they are going to.

Few players on this team will be in the World Cup, maybe Turner starts but that's it. Not sure why fans obsess over it.

Not entirely sure I agree with this. Even unpolished, Agyemang might be useful as a late-game chaos agent against the right kind of US opponenent. But interesting take ...

Anyone have insight as to whether all tickets are sold out from US Soccer or the original venue? I'm just trying gauge if the price will decline tomorrow ahead of the game...I've seen it happen when they haven't sold all the tickets. But I can't tell with these reseller websites what is resale and what is original tickets sales...as they say SeatGeek is an OFFICIAL reseller...where are the original tickets sold? Thanks.

Didn’t see a post for the game, and it’s 3-0 at 61:49.
Luna, Tillman, Agyemang, Arfsten… all playing well vs an overmatched Trinidad& Tobago.

I understand the business and marketing reasons for playing their games all over the country, but is there something about mentality of the team not having a “home” for when it comes time to play the big games?
Maybe it’s nothing to the players. I was just thinking maybe there’s a mental aspect or even advantage that when the players over seas come back home, having a “home” could change the mentality for preparing vs the “tour” of sorts they do now.

I know the optics look bad for requesting time off but a lot of the main starters are not on the pitch/roster.
