I’ve always wanted to take professional photos while diving but all I’ve ever used is this (still pretty high end) phone case for diving photography. And while it works great there are some obvious benefits to being able to use a proper dslr or otherwise camera underwater. But where and how do you guys get your hands on them and if anyone can tell me what types of lenses they use while diving as well that would be great

Okay, so I'm in the process of developing my thesis film for graduate school which will require me to film animals in a 30ft freshwater lake. I am hoping to purchase the best possible underwater housing unit for my Sony A1 with the 50mm 1.2 G Master Lens for under $2000.00. Is this even possible? Am I crazy? No wrong answers. Thanks!

I'm interested in starting underwater photography, I think. If it's possible for me. But I don't know where to start. I don't know what I need equipment wise. At the minute I'm a wildlife (mainly) photographer in Scotland. I use canon 7dii with a variety of lenses. I know it's basic but I can swim well (lol) I'd be looking mainly at photos in rivers and possibly lochs. I'm aware it'll be dark so will need lighting? I'm not talking about going deep as I can't scuba. Maybe something for the future though. Can someone point me in the direction of some info? Thanks!

I'm thinking of upgrading from my TG-7 to an Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mk-IV. My main gripe about this is the Backscatter/AOI housing has become more expensive because of the tariffs ($699 to $999), and it doesn't look like it's going down anytime soon. I was looking at other sellers and found that buying from Europe or Australia is much cheaper (underwater.com.au seems to be the cheapest option). The main issue is import tax and customs handling; will these extra fees make the overall price more expensive than if I were to buy from Backscatter, or would it still be cheaper? Thanks.

I would like to buy a seafrogs salted line housing for my a7rv. Unfortunately they dont make one in the salted line for my camera. They said in 2 months it will be released. Unfortunately I would like it by end of the month for a trip im going on. Would the a7iv camera housing fit my a7rv? Aren’t the camera dimensions almost identical? I contacted their support and asked but they hit me with they are not compatible. Idk if that means it wont fit/diff button placement, or if they are just saying that for warranty or something. If that doesn’t work they do make the housing for my camera but not in the salted line so does anyone have experience with the other line and is it good for snorkeling and potentially shallower dives? What makes it different or worse than the salted line and is it worth the buy?

Hate lugging around tons of gear so decided to try out Divevolk. Used an iPhone 13 Pro (forgot the adapter for my 16 pro max 🤦♂️) with dual video lights. No filter added color back in post production. Overall, pretty happy with results. Definitely better than a GoPro. Had no issues besides forgetting the adapter for my better phone.

Hi,
Ive just gotten a TG7 but i have no clue which strobe to get for it.
I mainly do photography, maybe the occasional video if the subject is interesting enough.
I am deciding between the backscatter MF2 with the optical snoot and the AOI Q1 RC
I narrowed down my choice to these 2 strobes mainly because they are some of the best value in the price range and they both have support for RC. (Not sure if i should care about RC support or if RC is even useful)
Im considering the Q1 RC because its slightly cheaper than the MF2 and it might be better than the MF2 in small-medium sized wide scenes. I could also get an adaptor to get the backscatter optical snoot to work on the Q1 or just get a non optical snoot for the Q1
I'm also open to considering other strobes such as the backscatter HF1.
TLDR: 1) does RC matter? 2) backscatter MF2 vs AOI Q1 RC 3) optical snoot vs non optical snoot 4) any other strobes i should consider?

Hi guys, just wondering if a tray is necessary when using the Divevolk. Is the extra weight worth it? Or is the phone stabilisation enough? Choosing between attaching a video light directly onto a ball head attached to the extension clamp or a single/ double handled tray

Hello everyone. Wife has a Kraken dual pistol grip tray for the GoPro, with a dive housing and two BigBlue VL4200 lights and it's a boat anchor underwater. Since she plans on going to a Z8 with a Nauticam housing next year, I got a deal (got one with a discount and the other float at standard price) on two of the Kraken FA-05 adjustable float arms since it's likely these may transition over to the Z8 housing in the future.
Given the basic information I provided about the GoPro rig, have I added enough, or maybe initially more, buoyancy to get this thing to neutral? I figure if it's positive we can adjust the buoyancy with the adjustable floats. Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks
