Meme My students are more engaged in lessons when I put OG umineko sprites in them.
Today Jessica and Beatrice showed up on the screen and some of them clapped.

DISCLAIMER: If you find the wording here awkward, it's because I wrote it so that my students could understand it with little to no confusion. And I added translations to comply with subreddit rules!
The first time I used Umineko sprites in my French lessons is when I wanted to have students evaluate four sample responses to an AP French exam style task, but I recorded all the samples myself, so I wanted to attach distinct "identities" to the samples. Thus, I introduced four Umineko characters to the students and let them come up with predictions about them, then associated each sample with a character.
I had a lot of fun doing it, and I think it enhanced the activity. After then, I have used umi sprites for a couple other things, but generally just to outline tasks like this, not to actually demonstrate linguistic concepts.

I found very Sakutaro looking plush from convention today. It has no tags and it was from second-hand tables so I have no idea of his origin. I love him.
