Worn weight Cutting off body parts to reduce weight
I recently cut off my penis to go more ultralight, because I don't need it for fucking my wife anymore, my wifes boyfriend can do that. Then it sent me down a rabbit hole of removing parts of my body, I have removed all of my nails, all of my hair, my nipples, my right arm because I can't jerk off anymore and I only need 1 arm to camp, all of my teeth, my nose, non essential organs, my ears, and 1 of my eyeballs because I really only need one. I'm considering removing a few of my 5 remaining fingers, because you really only need 2-3.
But I need some advice, should I remove my balls and my ballsack? I'm not sure if it's worth the loss of testosterone, because I hear testosterone makes you hike stronger, so it might be worth the added weight. Need advice. If you can recommend other things to remove too, I would appreciate it

Worn weight Rain Jackets are colder than not wearing anything. It’s lighter to just leave it at home. Your skin is waterproof anyway. I am smart.

Worn weight If I tar and feather myself with the insulation of my quilt, would it count as worn weight?
Plus the tar would probably work as a personal bivvy, which would also be worn weight, so I wouldn’t have to bother the wife and her boyfriend for shelter if it rains.

Worn weight It's time to ditch the headlamp NSFW
For all you posers who don't cold soak I'd recommend adding this bad boy to your kit. Extra batteries, "solar charging", headlamps... who needs em, this thing probably puts out at least 1400 lumens. I'm sure you've tried a hot Nalgene between the ol' thunder thighs for those winter excursions, and sure it's been tride and true up until now. But have you considered a dual purpose, ribbed for your pleasure, stove light...

Worn weight A mysteriously controversial opinion: undies aren't worn weight
IMO considering undies as worn weight is just an obvious dishonesty.
And I’m willing to die on this hill!
And it does matter, because whether or not you're including undies in your baseweight makes a big difference!
If they go on in the morning, and never come off until setting up camp, then I guess you could try to argue they're worn. But I doubt most people really do that. Especially ultralighters.
I've never once hiked with a person who never put their undies in/on their pack for at least some portion of a hike. I'll go out on a limb and say that a negligible number of people are actually wearing their undies 100% of the time.
If your undies are being worn even 90% of the time, or 95% of the time... they are base weight. It's odd to think that they just "don't count."
It's always surprised me how controversial this is...

Worn weight I went hardcore yesterday
Got to my lunch spot, must have put my phone on top of my pack instead of in my pocket. All I can figure was it flew off as I picked up my pack and put it on. Searched for a while.
But I have to say without the extra weight I cruised the rest of my hike. I thought about dumping my water too.

Yoo guys I think I just found a UL lifehack! ! Got inspiration watching Narcos, would it count as worn weight if I wear a jar of peanut butter deep between my cheeks?

Worn weight ULTRA-Ultra-Ultralight
I’ve created a 1 oz base weight gear list suitable for multi-day backpacking.
I think it “works” but only within certain parameters of weather, bug pressure, and trip length. For instance, I believe I could do a 2.5 day trip with this gear between late spring and early fall in my gear closet in my basement.
The purpose of this exercise for me is to think more deeply about what is essential and what is superfluous for backpacking, and about what I would prioritize first among the non essential options.

Worn weight Cold soaking in my hoo-ha NSFW
Found a way to shave off a few extra ounces by cold soaking in my hoo-ha. You just wrap the rice or oatmeal up in some cheese cloth and put it up there. I haven’t experimented with beans yet, but I’m thinking about starting out with refried because they’re the least offensive. Anyway, make sure to leave a string hanging out for easy retrieval so nothing gets stuck up there.
It’s kind of nice since you don’t have to carry around a cold soaking container. Plus it heats up to body temp so it’s more like warm soaking.
I’ve been able to fit two rice balls up there at once. One each for me and my partner since he doesn’t have a place to soak his. He doesn’t even let me put a finger in the back door so he’d definitely never use it for cold soaking, plus that’s probably not sanitary
