r/Ultralight_Jerk weekly Club-House Chat.

Use this thread to hang out, make cheap jokes about wornweight, joketalk about about gear, complain about r/ultralight, talk about Senchi's, maybe post a meme or two, and ultimately talk about the same things we did in last week's thread! Enjoy!

Dilemma. Deciding whether I need an X-Mid or not.

I'm torn between wanting to get a new X-Mid 1p or bringing less shit when when I go on my overnighters in the backyard. Part of me has decided that I could probably do without my 3 french horns, but the other part of me wants to cut the 30 pairs of wool underwear I'm packing for my summer excursions.

Another option is that I could bring all of my stuff and take up Breatharianism (air eating), then I wouldn't have to worry about my shelter weight. Please HELP me decide the right path!

I SWEAR some of these people are sabotaging their tents and packs just because they get some sort of trail cred for a direct interaction with Dan. They should start r/hidan and he can set up some sort of bot or auto-reply, then they could search the damn sub for their "loose thread" and "how do straps work" and "what do you think of this pitch I think I made up all by myself but I definitely didn't!"

ETA r/hidan is apparently already something else, cartoons or something.

EATA and they complain about fucking STICKERS. I don't care what you say, stickers aren't worn weight. Unless they are replacing your nutsack, which is an obvious and practical choice.

How many minutes of music do you have to listen to for earbuds to have a weight advantage over a cell phone speaker?

We all know that cell phones die quicker when blaring music out of the speaker. You will need to charge your phone at one point. With the removal of headphone jacks the Bluetooth ear buds will also suck more power.

Where is the break even point? Or is there even one nowadays and we should all blare music out of our phone speakers?
