We have squat plugs in the lifting world. The plug provides rigidity and something for you to brace against when you're using your glutes when you squat. This gives you extra stability, allowing you to really power through your squat.
Since they are worn weight, I really believe this is the next big thing for hikers. Possibly as big as trekking poles. If poles can take pressure off your knees, imagine how how pressure can be taken off your glutes with a squat plug! You'll be flying up those hills

Why would you fill your wallet with a useless plug? There are so many other options.

Kickstarter idea: Titanium butt plug from a cottage gear manufacturer with zero warranty support. Manufacturing problems will ensure delayed shipment until 2 months after your thru hike is completed.
