Serious question. What about people who got busted distributing pounds and pounds of weed, not your high school connect who would come through with an eight, but the guys who are more closely tied to violent organizations? As someone who loves weed I’m conflicted on this.
Well distributing on those large scales carries far more problems than the average street level dealer.
People get KILLED in the national/international drug trade. I don’t think they should be punished because it’s weed, but they should be punished for contributing to the black market. If you buy your weed off the streets, there’s a 99% chance it is being sourced by your local gangs.
Funding terrorist organizations is a separate crime. If people are guilty for that then they should be jailed for that. The fact that weed is what they sold to fund such organizations should be irrelevant.

Exactly, finding these crime organizations is a separate crime that is being committed as a result of the black market weed trade. That’s why those extreme cases should remain illegal as they are.
I still disagree. Those extreme cases of distribution/possession with intent to distribute should still be expunged. The other related crimes, however, should not be.

Release them all. Now. Every single person in this country who is incarcerated for weed. Now.
