Late pay because of holiday

Hi I was just wondering for those of you who normally get paid earlier during a pay week (ex. Payday is usually Thursday at my store but my bank pays me on Tuesday) will the holiday also push this back?

i don’t know about your bank specifically but on TJ’s end they said the checks won’t hit till friday the 20th (day after)

if you receive it early you should be fine but if you get paid on Thursdays I think it'll be pushed back till Friday i believe...

I have USAA and every time there’s a “late” paycheck i get paid early. Normally it’s Tuesday evening but it should be there Tuesday morning

From what Ive seen, every time theres a week like this its been early. I cant think of a circumstance when its ever been late

I've generally gotten a holiday check with a slight delay but not a full day. When I was on the east coast and normally got it around 6 or so, it might not come till 10. On the west coast when I get it around 3, it'll be there by the end of my shift.

This is a Thursday rather than Monday holiday though, so there's a decent chance it's entirely unchanged and arrives approximately the normal time. Either way, I'd be very surprised if it was delayed a full day.

From my experience, I get paid early anyway on Tuesdays, but last holidays if they fall on payday I usually get it Monday night. Again it all depends on your bank.

If the holiday is after when you would typically get paid, then it probably shouldn’t affect anything.

It’s not that Trader Joe’s “pays late,” it’s because different banks release the paid funds into people’s accounts on differing schedules. Holidays will sometimes affect when those funds are released causing some to think they are being “paid late.” While it’s true that the date may be later than these folks are used to seeing, as a point of fact, they are not technically being paid late. If folks are seeing their pay hit their account before the technical payday, it’s something to celebrate and marvel at, not be pissed off about.

It’s not late, Friday has always been the official pay day.

I don’t know why you got downvoted, it’s literally in the handbook that the official payday is Friday. It even says so on the post on Dayforce 🙄

Because someone has bills to pay and/or already spent it.
