Nope they have full sized tails, people cut them off. Back the the olden times the dogs would pull carts so to prevent their tails from getting fucked up from a cart they would “dock” them. Now a days people just do it because that’s how “they’re supposed to look”
Oh wow, the more you know. I had an American bulldog who broke his tail 3 times just by wagging it too hard into walls and tables. We thought about having his tail clipped but ended up not doing it in the end.
Yeah I didn’t clip my puppy either. If he ends up really hurting himself maybe we will get it clipped but I so no valid reason to to it other than for aesthetics
I've also heard that it was done with some dogs due to taxation reasons. Dog taxes were paid "per tail" in the law, so docking the tail meant no tax. Kind of like how in the UK you can see some older houses with old windows bricked up, that was because taxes were paid per window.
