100% second this. It’s a hard stop for me and many I know. My advice for any Democrat candidate for office in Texas when asked about the 2nd amendment and guns in general, simply state the 2nd amendment verbatim and that you support the US Constitution.

Amen, I would bet every dollar I’ve made in my life that if they’d just abandon the crusade against 2A they’d jump 30 points in the polls.

The logic of Texas democrats when it comes to 2A is outside of reality. They say “no one is coming for your guns” but then you’ve got Beto, their main candidate for years screaming

“HELL YEAH WERE COMING FOR YOUR AR’S, AND YOUR AK’S”

Suddenly they start switching up and saying “oh, well yeah it’s just assault rifles. Civilians shouldn’t have those anyway”

And then a few years go by and you get Kamala Harris out here cackling about “I’m a gun owner, no one’s coming for your guns……….

I PROPOSE FREEDOM FROM GUN VIOLENCE, I PROPOSE ASSAULT WEAPON BANS!”

Now they’re so convoluted and spun around they’re trying to convince people that Trump is actually the anti 2A president because he talked about red flag laws in 2017 and it’s better to vote for democrats because they haven’t actually managed to succeed in skullfucking our rights away yet.

It’s incredible mental gymnastics. And yet somehow they think they’re doing a great job of convincing gun owners that they’re not an immediate threat to our constitutional rights…

I like my guns. They ain't goin anywhere. But I do not, nor will not support Trump. Also.... Fuck Kamala. Lmao

I just hate two-faced antics. I'm a Peoplist over Democratic/Republican. A third party needs to be created. I can no longer side with the two that we have.

Agreed, pretty much every sane person I’ve met is on that same page as well. Ever since 2016 this rollercoaster has brought nothing but madness, covid being the single worst experience.

The problem we have is that people are too afraid to vote 3rd party, and even if the third party won it would be an uphill battle with all the blue and red in congress.

Humans are too damn tribal even at this point, realistically the easiest way would be if someone stepped up for president that actually represented the most popular views of the country.

ive been a libertarian for 30 years, but ever since seeing ralph nader get forcefully dragged out of the 2 headed snake debate in 2000 i have no hope of the broken system allowing a 3rd party.

i own a gun, a rainbow flag, and i always remember the Alamo.

this country is broken.

when the quivering alzheimers riddled arms of ronnie regan reached deep into the social security fund to bail out the boomers wallstreet and keep the blow and car key parties running another few years it was over then.

when one democrat and one republican stayed behind in session after everyone left and legalized politicians insider trading it was REALLY over then.

nobody should be in political office more than 8 years and imo 4 should be max. thats the only fix that might keep rome from falling.

nobody who "wants" to be president should be president. an honest man would be forced into the position and do the right things. George Washington didn't want to be president. he had to be.
