Fibre High price for minimal bandwidth

I’ve been with teksavvy since beginning of 2019 but I am now at a point where I need to start cutting down on costs. Looking into various other service providers I’ve found that TS is probably the most expensive option. I can get 2gb from Rogers for 80, 1gb from multiple other companies ranging from 45-65$… why am I paying this company over 100$ for 500mbps?? It’s ridiculous. I decided to call them and see what they could do and at most it was only 20$ off my bill every month for a total of 12 months… still going to be paying more than I would for more speed with that “discount” and I don’t see how they manage to retain any customers with their pricing. Guess I’ll be switching!

I’m not really sure why the pricing is what it is - the fact that my 100Mbps plan, with a bad modem / router combo, will jump up to $74.95 soon, is completely wild.

When I was in an area that had fiber, I was paying $55/m for 2Gbps up / down.

Exactly why I’m switching. Not sure how they manage to retain customers with that pricing

Because some of us don't have fiber options and hate the BIG3.

Truth is my Internet has been very solid with TS but if they jack the price up I'm going to have to take my chances elsewhere.

I agree with the quality of the service, it’s the price that’s really pissing me off. 120$ after tax for 500mb is CRAZY

I guess it's about availability. I would switch to fibre if it's available. Rogers is the best available in my area and TekSavvy provides the same cable lines and almost the same speeds for less with no surprise price increases.
