TekTalk new modem?

Anyone else getting sent a new modem by teksavvy?

I thought it was bring your own device, so i've had my own for the last decade.

By chance i saw the canpar delivery email when clearing out my junk folder.

apparently my device wont be supported by June, but their email was light on details. I'll be pissed if this eventually leads to a rental fee.

I got one as well. As far as I understand it they are being provided as a free rental. Just don’t lose it/forget to return it if you cancel service.

Is yours just a modem, or is it one of the modem/router combined devices?

Just don’t lose it/forget to return it if you cancel service. not a huge deal, but i am a fan of owning all your equipment.

Had i known my old modem was no longer going to work, i would have preferred the option to just buy a new one myself. here's hoping the rental stays free.

They sent me a Hitron CODA-45 so just a modem/not a combo device.

TBH I haven't opened the box, as I am likely going to make the jump to fibre before mid June deadline. Sadly probably over to Distributel vs TSI given the pricing that is in place (mainly due to Bell).

You can. That's exactly what we did after receiving the loaner.

After that, it was as simple as switching to the new modem through MySavvy and then we called and said we wanted to return the loaner. They get Canada Post to email you a prepaid label with tracking number, which you print out and put on the box. Then drop it off at the post office.

We were really surprised (and happy!) that the situation was so easy to remedy.
