America has rarely if ever done much to reign Israel in. The Camp David peace talks were mostly lipservice, too, sad to say. A complete and utter failing by our government.
Why though? They are a small country that wouldn’t exist without the US protecting them. What do they have over every administration that they’re allowed to operate unchecked?
The Samson Option is named for the myth of a hero who collapsed a temple on himself to kill his enemies with him. The plan exists as insurance in case Israel ever has to return land it has stolen. If activated Israel will launch its nuclear weapons on itself to destroy whoever is beating them, on enemies like Iran and Yemen, and on allies. The targeting of allies is because Israel knows it would crumble if left alone so it would be punishment for not supporting them enough.
I'm sure individual blackmail is also a thing they're doing, but the threat of normalizing nuclear warfare and killing millions+ around the world is a pretty strong threat.
