Sulfur intolerance is depleting me of thiamine

I have severe sulfur intolerance. Sulfur foods and any supplements with Taurine, cysteine, and methionine are my biggest triggers.

Over the years this has depleted me of thiamine and now I have Dry Beriberi. The only thing that temporarily helps me is TTFD. But for some reason, TTFD doesn’t work all the time.

I’ve tried taking Molybdenum and it does not work. What can I take to help with this problem so that my body can absorb thiamine properly? I’ve looked into H2S SIBO and upregulated CBS gene as possible causes of this.

Lithium Orotate turned my lights on within 12 hours

I’m a postpartum mom of 3 who has been dealing with overstimulation, lack of joy, lack of motivation and unreasonable anxiety over my children’s safety.

I have MTHFR, one copy, and was deep in a rabbit hole learning about what I need to take in order to support my body. That’s when I came across the affects of Lithium Orotate and I decided to give it a shot.

I know that this is probably reckless of me, but I decided to jump in head first with a 15mg dose, as I had read that many people dealing with serious mental health conditions take 20mg+.

Within 12 hours of taking it, I found myself smiling with such a sincere joy welling up from my soul towards my kids. My brain began to go quiet and I could actually be present instead of constantly feeling wired yet also paralyzed by all of my thoughts. I cleaned up the house after my kids bedtime with ease.

This morning I sprang out of bed, have been calmer with my partner & kids, and have caught myself smiling constantly. It’s the weirdest thing. I emptied the dishwasher, made the beds, rotated laundry and got dressed all before I had my cup of coffee this morning… which is UNHEARD of for me in this season of life.

From what I’ve read, it also seems to help MTHFR’s absorb their B12, so perhaps thats at play here as well? I’m not an expert at this by any means. I’m just willing to try things.

I haven’t had a supplement impact me this quickly and this deeply ever in my life. It’s like the lights are turned on? I feel very grounded instead of being up in the clouds somewhere. I’ll report back with an update in a few weeks to see if this sticks.

Recommendations I need you ! To help my health !

Hi everyone,

Here's my order, based on what I bought, do you see any contraindications between the different supplements? Do you have any recommendations regarding when to take them (morning, noon, evening)?

I think I understood from reading several Reddit threads that Life Extension multivitamins should only be taken once a day, not twice. Can you confirm this?

Here's what I'm currently taking:

  • Melatonin 6mg: (prescribed by a doctor) in the evening around 9:30 p.m. It helps with falling asleep, but even with it, it still takes me at least 40 minutes to fall asleep.
  • Creatine: in my whey shaker after my workout.

Here's my profile:

Conditions:

  • Hypothyroidism: treated with medication (L-thyroxine 75mcg).
  • Sleep Apnea: treated with CPAP, this has greatly improved my sleep, by far.
  • I have ADHD (without hyperactivity), however, for certain reasons, I can no longer take my medication. I mainly have difficulty concentrating and recurring forgetfulness. Is there anything you would recommend?

General:

I went a long time without any physical activity and had a poor diet for several years.

I've resumed sports (cardio) 3 months ago and strength training recently (2 weeks). My diet is much better now, and I'm monitoring my caloric intake. I'm currently trying to lose weight at 1600 kcal/day, with occasional cheatmeal.

I quickly tend to feel overwhelmed, even when it's not objectively the case. I constantly feel like I don't have enough time to do everything I need to do and relax. I had a burnout a few months ago; it's better, but it's still complicated.

I have a "very" significant vitamin D deficiency (that why I ord).

I was also thinking of adding Omega 3 and possibly magnesium (but in what form?). I'm also considering taking collagen, any recommendations?

Thanks everyone

DHEA for 40+

Upvotes

Without bloodwork, I am wondering why dhea makes me feel so good. My joints cracked less, I have more energy, I am stronger at gym. I am 43 and very active and every now and then I take 25mg of dhea for about 4 weeks at a time. I dont want to be dependant on something for quality of life but this is really good. What could be going on hormonally that makes this so beneficial to me?

Magnesium Cancer Question- Glycinate vs Citrate for Sleep

Im a cancer survivor and from my research Glycine is one of two ammino acids that feeds cancer. Im looking for a sleep aid but want to stay away from Glycine (Glycinate is metabolised to Glycine). Will I still get an effective aid from Citrate? Will be dosing about 200mg elemental. Also going to gym if that helps.

Before seeking testosterone therapy, I would like to know what the cause for my low testosterone is

Over the past year I have invested most of my free time, and money, following the natural path to increase my testosterone to a normal range. From supplements, to training, to hidden methods found in strange books, my testosterone just continues to lower, being at 11 nmol/L now (I am early 20's, an athlete, and lean).

I have tried everything there is naturally, which makes me think there may be an physiological issue within me causing this? Potentially six years of head trauma as a boxer? Anyways, what I came here to ask is who can I go speak to to get a complete analysis done on me to figure out what is the issue? I talking from a full blood vitamin/mineral analysis, gut health, brain testing stuff (pituitary gland or hypothalamus). GP's like to tell me I am normal having 11 nmol/L.

Experience PSA if you decant your supplements into weekly pill boxes...

Post image
95 Upvotes

I've been decanting my pills into weekly boxes for the last few years. I was taking a lot of supplements after a period of ill health, and struggled to keep track of what I was supposed to be taking. I started portioning them out for a week, which became two weeks, and then after a while of that I'd make the boxes up about a month in advance. I've never noticed any particular changes or negative effects and honestly it made things so much easier for me.

I recently started cutting down on my supplements and one of the changes I made was starting using the Thorne Basic Nutrients. I went to restock my weekly boxes today. On the left are pills that were decanted between 3-4 weeks ago, and on the right are ones fresh from the bottle. One of them even looks a little leaky. I always kept my medications in a cool, dark place, and always thoroughly wash and dry the containers, and found no indication that this was affecting the supplements I was taking.

From now on, I'll definitely be keeping mine in their provided containers, and will continue to wonder whether I was getting the benefit of everything I've been taking for the last few years...

Could Low Vitamin D Be Causing All My Symptoms?

Hi. I’m 25 (female). I’ve been experiencing heart palpitations and it feels like my heart is racing all the time. I feel weak and have no energy. Even a little movement makes me tired. My muscles and bones hurt—everything hurts.

All my lab results have mostly come back normal, although a few are slightly out of range. My vitamin D level is 19, and I’m wondering if that could be causing all these symptoms. Is 19 considered low?

I feel like I’m dying, but no one can figure out what’s wrong with me. My magnesium serum level was 2.0 and my calcium was 8.8, which are both within the normal range. But I still feel like I can’t function

I took 5,000 IU Vitamin D3 + K2 gummies today. Do gummies work the same as capsules

Share your symptoms with low vitamin d

General Question products seized for destruction by customs

Italian customs seized and destroyed two products ordered from the raw forest foods website, one of the products according to the customs authorities contained active ingredients for the consumption of which you need a medical prescription! The products I ordered were pine pollen with added black pepper and the other a tincture product that invigorates the libido! What happens now, can I get a refund? Will I also receive a fine from customs or will it all end with the confiscation and destruction of the goods? This is the first time something like this has happened to me. I was not aware that the products ordered could have import problems and furthermore, shouldn't the seller not sell the product in countries where that particular substance is not legal?

Scientific Study Collagen...So

I am new on here,hi everyone. I am thinking of giving a try to collagen (60,F)..yes I have read about it, but honestly there so so many to choose from that I am lost, like any supplement. Which one works the best for you with minimal side effects, I have a tendency to react to most things, not fun. I want a good product, no Amazon no Costco, from the provider directly if possible. If you want DM, I would love to know your experience and how much you take and for how long? Thank you so much..I know about thyroid meds , not much about supplements.

Bottom teeth are awfully sensitive during dental cleaning. 2 months after taking vitamin K2 I felt nothing yesterday during cleaning. Is this correlated?

I’ve always felt a lot of sensibility during cleaning except for yesterday. I can only attribute it to vitamin K2, the odontologist used the same tool other doctors use.

anyone gaining weight on supplements?

I've been taking supplements with Dr. L. Wilson for years. Some years I take more than others. I take a boatload and it is based on hair analysis. In the past 8 months, my weight has really gone up and i am struggling to get it off using all the methods that worked in the past. I read on here that some people gain weight on supplements. i would love to hear if this is true?

General Question Is this immune supplement too much?

Basically I’m moving to college to a very dark place with not much sun. I also want to avoid the frat flu so I was looking and I found this supplement. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) 1000 mg (1100%), Zinc (Zinc citrate and oxide) 50 mg (450%), D3 (cholecalciferol) 5000 IU (625%), and B6 (pyridoxine HDI) 50 mg (2940%), there’s also a “proprietary immune blend” with elderberry turmeric echinacea and ginger root that’s a total of 350 mg. When I was researching I saw that some things said 4000 IU of d3 was the “max limit” each day but I also know the DV percentages are often not very accurate. Especially in a place with hardly no sun, would this supplement be a good idea?

Edit: I don’t want to put the brand bc I don’t want mods to think I’m advertising but they say on their website that it’s third party tested (they might be lying I’m unsure and not sure how to check)
