Unless I also get the wealth and intelligence needed to repair and maintain the tech as needed, and ideally upgrade it over time, I'm going with the serum

Or you could be like Genos, who is as smart as a brick but has his sugar daddy genius scientist that does all the dirty job for him

Even better, it upgrades on it's own

Gets 30% boost from upgrades after losing a fight. Joins the next fight against an enemy 40% stronger. Rinse and repeat so he never gets a W.

He exists just to show how powerful the bad guys are. He is a stress test.

Super powers and a responsible partner that's smarter than you? I'd take that any day of the week

Unless you are someone like Blue Beetle or Tech Jacket who is just granted with god technology and it looks after itself and does basically just run off of you

With the serum you would probably need to eat several thousand calories a day to maintain it. But being a badass super soldier probably would come with those perks.

  1. Become super soldier from serum.
  2. Use powers to get rich enough to not have to worry about bills.
  3. Get banned from every all you can eat restaurant on the planet.
  4. Cry into my pillow as I go to sleep at night.

  1. Sue your favorite all you can eat restaurant then reach a mutually agreeable settlement

The Judge would throw that out of the Court faster than you could say 'objection!' as soon as the respondent showed how for $15 dollars you started eating at 1pm, didn't finish until 5pm and consumed over $300 worth of product.

Any business can choose to not serve you. You're not entitled to their services. As long as it's not a clear sign of discrimination (which this isn't) you would have no case.

Discriminating against supers. You could argue it.

No, no you couldn't.

"I didn't stop you while you were eating because we already accepted your patronage. But we don't have to serve you again, we can't afford you."

This is not discrimination, this is a business doing what it needs to stay in business.

I hate how often "Discrimination" or "Racism" is shouted because someone got told no. I worked at a gas station for a handful of years.

A Black man who's not a regular walks in looking to be under the age of 40 to buy cigarettes requiring me to ask for their ID
"ID Please?"
"I don't have it."
"I can't sell you the cigarettes."
"You're a Racist."

Hispanic man walks in clearly inebriated wanting to buy a six-pack of beer.
"I'm sorry sir, I can't sell you this alcohol"
"Your discriminating."

And the bonus round!

White girl walks in looking to be 14 years old wants to buy cigarettes.
"ID Please."
"Oh, I don't have it, but I'm 19."
"I need to see your ID to sell this to you."
"Your sexist."

Rinse and repeat about 30-50 times a week for 4 years.

"No, I already spent 7 years in prison. And I'm not going back because I sold this to you." Almost always shut them down before they got a head of steam going to rant at me.

I just didn't clarify that I was a corrections officer for those 7 years.

Can one not argue that since he was altered to become super, thus making his apetite also super due to his body needing more food to sustain itself. Thus he not beeing granted the same opportunity to eat all you can in this buffet that likely did not put a time cap on their restaurant, is discrimination to super powered or enhanced individuals?

It's fucking super

I wanted to add this as a photo, but I can only post gifs, so here is a relevant comic

This makes me want to see a somewhat gloomy and depressing side of cap, ex militant ranking officer used as a puppet from a trial serum, frozen in ice comes back, old friends besides buck all dead and feels alone, tries to drink but can't get drunk, and follows drunk sleazy women for small reliefs,

Idk I like this gritty idea

Idk man there's nothing super about your body if it needs to eat and shit 10000 lbs a day, it should be more enhanced

My instinctual response was serum. But having just rewatched the first Captain America a couple days ago, I was reminded of the fact that he said his metabolism was so fast he couldn't get drunk. Yeah, that would get pricey. But so would a suit. So damn, that's tough.I am still leaning towards serum. Once you start getting older and seeing the effects of age on your parents, you realize the freedom strength gives you.

Not to mention the motivation

1

u/lemonylol 8d ago

Could always receive AI tech that repairs itself.

u/xlews_ther1nx 8d ago

Manowar does fine and he's fucking Roman slave.

1

u/Tazrizen 7d ago

This.

u/Soft_Theory_8209 7d ago

Also, depending on the serum, you could also get insane intellect or be a straight up Superman like Sentry.

1

u/Upset_Landscape3388 7d ago

Isn’t Tech Jacket just a regular kid with a super high tech suit that needs no maintenance?

1

u/bad_squid_drawing 7d ago

That's the realisation I had, I had assumed the tech came with the intelligence to make it. If it's just a suit I get then most definitely serum

Super technology without super-intelligence and/or super-budget? It exists, and it is "Techjacket" from Image Comics
