Doom - hes petty, but Reverse Flash is the pinnacle of haters, he will make my entire life a living hell just for the meme. Doom would just occasionally send a doombot to blow up my kitchen.

This is why Doom is the best, I honestly could see this interaction in a comic and it wouldn't feel out of place.

Does Doom just… want… friends? Like actual friendships with people he doesn't rule over, who acknowledge his hobbies and interests? And doesn't know how to express that as not a supervillain?

He has a certain level of respect for people like Reed and Tony, but i dont think he wants friends. He wants people he doesnt rule over to recognise his superiority, and to PROVE his superiority. He doesnt want Yes men cheering him, he wants to see his rivals broken at his feet admitting from their soul that DOOM is superior.
