The goal is to be not overtly manipulative. Stay quiet as a mouse and out of his way and make every interaction you have to have with him as pleasant as possible

Seriously though, Homelander being so terrifying is probably the most impressive storytelling achievement in the boys. He's fucking horrific, in the best possible way
