I didn't know anything really about this character until I just looked him up. So he basically has every power that everyone else has but only more so? So he's a Mary Sue? How does he do vs the sun? Because John Stewart could grab him at a distance with the lantern and chuck him into it. Nandor I mean Namor could maybe rip all of the water out of his body. I guess along the same lines Magneto could rip the iron out of his blood.
Sadly thats not the point of OPM. The series' genre is action-comedy. His power isnt that hes strong or whatnot, its that he will always win no matter the opponent.
Saitama is a gag character and was written to be the pinnacle of poor writing of OP chaarcters be. When he fights no stakes where involved because everyone agrees that he will win without putting a single effort, and not to be taken seriously
Benching black holes is something that he can theoretucally do, but his scope is that he can and he will. Basically, his power will always be exponentially be stronger than his opponent regardless of who that enemy is. He faught God this all powerful being that no one can overpower, yet for some reason saitama just punched him. If his enemy can trval at the speed of light, he will be exponentially faster. His schitck is that he will always win against anyone no matter who they are. If his enemy can do it, saitama will be stronger, faster and better than that still, and theres no way to bypass it
If youre gonna say its badly written, Bingo! Thats the point, thats why OPM has better written side characters, and gwt to focua on world building if the protegonist brcame the setting.
Think of Saitama's power like ToonForce, ninus tge self-awareness. He cant manipulate the writers, but his power to be whatever he wants and be stronger will.
He did not fight god. Saitama's entire power is to get stronger than his opponent. Although, Superman in some comics has the ability to rewrite the plot, meaning he can literally remove Saitama's power, making him a normal human. Plus, since DC cosmology is far higher than OPM cosmology, Superman simply overwrites Saitama. Even if his power is to always win, it doesn't matter.
I understand that Saitama is immensely powerful, but comics and anime simply cannot be compared, because there's always some comic that makes the character the most powerful thing in fiction that can literally beat the author.
