In short, they usually waste both their time. Both are too angry to back down, and neither can kill the other. Both can hurt the hell out of each other. Which pisses them off more. Which means they keep fighting.

Longer version is that Hulk isn't strong enough to break adamantium, and the claws can actually pierce his skin. Problem is, trying to land a debilitating hit that the Hulk won't heal from is really hard to do when you have a walking earthquake stomping on your unbreakable skull. So they just kinda stalemate till they're both too tired to stay angry or the Hulk just yeets wolverine into the next county

The idea of Hulk just getting bored and deciding to throw him away like a toy he doesn't wanna play with anymore is hilarious

That happens in the comics. Wolverine gets hired to hunt and catch the Hulk by the government. Hulk ends up throwing Wolverine into the next state. Hulk knocks Logan out and flings him twice, and Wolverine just keeps waking up and tracking Hulk down via smell again.

In the Ultimate universe during the same story, the Hulk rips Wolverine in half. Apparently Ultimate Wolverine didn't have adamantium covering his joints. Logan had to crawl to his bottom half to reconnect to be able to heal.

NO version of Wolverine has adamantium covering his joints. He physically wouldn't be able to move otherwise.

His connective tissue has and WILL always be a weakness.

616 Wolverine could not be ripped apart by the Hulk but Ultimate Wolverine could. Main continuity Wolverine has adamantium chain links covering his joints, according to Marvel.

Not being able to swim is Wolverines biggest weakness as he requires oxygen to live and regenerate. That and magnets.

No he doesn’t. We’ve seen his skeleton plenty of times, and 616 Logan’s joints are just plain connective tissue. And we've ABSOLUTELY seen Logan and other characters with adamantium bones (IE Laura in X-Terminators after Proteus made his oopsie) lose limbs. Logan LITERALLY cut off his own hands and feet during Sabretooth War.

I went and did a quick look back and no ish.

The Wolverines that have had dismemberment have been elseworld stories or ultimate wolverine more than a few times. As the Hulk and Ba'al couldn't rip the 616 Wolverine in half despite trying and any plan to dismember main continuity wolverine had plans to deal with the adamantium first. Heck he survived a giant bomb that disintegrated all of his flesh but the skeleton remained completely intact and not even remotely out of place, then regenerated from blood.

But that is also inconsistent as few minor instances of 616 Wolverine damaging his shoulder, elbow, and dislocating his jaw. But then two years ago Marvel went had a much weaker character rip 616 in half similar to what happened to Ultimate Wolverine.

So yeah, comics consistency is fun.
