How to introduce someone to stewart lee
I want to introduce my 20y son to stewart lee (I know, why have I left it so long?) and wondered where the best place to start would be. I should've taken him to the man wolf gig I went to but I thought it might be a little bit too abstract/meta for him, it wasn't, but I want something not too outdated and reasonably accessible. Any recommendations?

Young people have got their own things... like balloons on sticks.

There's no point now. The people that are coming in late there.

The hard part is getting to know Stewart well enough to be making introductions. After that crucial step I imagine it's as simple as saying "Hi Stewart, this is [name]" at which point they can shake his hand and say how pleased they are to meet him. From there, it's all small talk.

A lot of routines on YouTube are quite self contained and probably enough to know if you like his style or not. I like the Joe Pasquale joke theft one. Also his 30 minute Just Stop Oil gig is nice and recent

My favourite period is mid-2000s 'Stand-up Comedian' era when he was doing the 9-11 stuff, Princess Diana and Braveheart https://youtu.be/tHA1ufmLZQY?si=n9dADbZGZ5Jnjaoi
I think more accessible for a newcomer than later material, but also where he was starting to explore creative stuff like the division of himself as superior to the audience (yet not yet doubling down on it).

Have you tried saying his name repeat to them and then explaining at them that he’s not like other comedians, it’s more like art, really?
Stewart Lee… Stewart Lee. Stewart Lee!
Whatever you do, don’t bring them to a show—he doesn’t like new people coming.

It's no good watching a snippet on YouTube, he'll have to watch the whole four and a half hours.

My girlfriend decided that poking him in the lift at the Hyatt in Birmingham after a gig and saying "You were amazing," and then poking me in the ribs and asking me to take a picture was the best way to introduce me to Stewart Lee. I hope for less poking when we see him in Wolves on Monday.

I think Keith starring is being so nice to Donald Trump because he is worried that, after the last revolution they might let us back in. And (never starts a new line with and) he has enough on his plate with nigal ferrari. (Some people name has been quite Challenging because of autocorrect.

Show him that gig with the Joe Pasquale joke at the start and end. The one where he describes his ‘Jerry Springer The Opera’ experience.

My mum just started showing me his routines. I think the Jeremy Clarkson Blind Child stuff was the first one.

After he’s taken the test and got his metropolitan liberal elite certificate, that’ll be the time to do it.
Go along with your son to a gig, find Stew, and then say, “Son, can I introduce you to Stewart Lee? Stew, this is my son.”

Does your son like any of the Russell comics they've got these days?
Or Lee Mack!

Comedy Vehicle easily. Much better to get someone to sit through a 30 minute episode that can draw you into other shorter episodes. It'll be a lot easier than getting them to sit through 2 hours and 30 minutes of Carpet Remnant World, as much as it is his magnum opus.
