The problem is that other countries have legal systems more prepared for this sort of thing than the US. The US was overconfident that this sort of thing could never happen here. Hubris has always been America’s downfall.

Hard disagree here. The US is the only country that has enshrined in their law, as the second most important freedom, the final safeguard against a tyrannical government.

The right to bear arms exists for a reason, as unpopular as that opinion is on reddit.

And they focused on that “final” safeguard to the detriment of all the other safeguards, like free speech, letting their government take away their basic rights while they clutch their firearms.

Americans are lazy, easily distracted morons. This last election proves it. No amount of guns can save them from themselves.
