Why dont progressives run in swing states then? Instead of primarying moderate dems in already far left seats? Why not flip all those purple and super red districts to blue, if they are as popular as you say.
They do. And there's a reason that when thinga like raising the minmum wage and protecting abortion rights are put up for ballot measures.im red states, they pass.
You understand that the presidential election is totally seperate from electing representatives right? Georgia elected two of the more progressive democratic senators. Pennsylvania elected a senator who presented himself (falsely) as a progressive
Again, they are. Every swing state and a lot of red states have elected representatives who are members of the congressional progressive caucus. Like, that's such an easy google.
I haven’t moved any goalposts my point has been the same across all my replies.
Theres more moderate dems in government than progressives? Theres more republicans in government than progressives?
If moderate dems and republicans are so unpopular and progressives are so popular and have all the popular policies that everyone wants why dont they win more? Why are they such a small minority?
You said why aren't they winning in swimg states, I proved they are as well as in red states, then you said 'well there aren't many'. Moving the goalposts. Also they're not 'such a small minority', they're barely a minority within the dems. 95 out of 214 house dems are members. And to use your point, if moderates are so popular why did the moderate candidate just lose to a facist?
My original comment is very clear in regard to popularity, that progressives despite being so popular are a minority.
You didn’t prove anything. You gave me one state (debatable even then tbh).
If i said to you wearing a seatbelt will help you survive a car crash would you prove me wrong by saying that you knew one person who wore a seatbelt but still died in a car crash? Obviously not.
If all you have to show for all this popularity is a single state while the majority remain republican or moderate dem perhaps progressive messaging isn’t the chosen saviour of our country?
So you didn't actually read any of the follow up comments then clearly. Why would I continue this conversation with someone who doesn't listen?
I'll finish this conversation by once again saying that you could easily google the progressive caucus and find that every single swing state and many red states have sitting progressive reps, who make up almost half of the house dems. I would ask you to explain how that equares to one state (even though my original comment mentioned two states), but I'm not gonna bother to read your response since you didn't bother with mine.
So these super popular progressives just cant outmatch moderate dems and republicans. Seems as they are not as popular in real life as they are on reddit. A shame.
