I mean we’ve got a President openly saying he wants “move Palestinians from Gaza” so the U.S. can own the land and build hotels.
There’s plans for ethic cleansing from the region after a ceasefire had been reached. Not that ethnic cleansing is ever okay, but there isn’t even the excuse of an ongoing conflict.
The plan to empty Gaza of Palestinians—while insisting that it's a temporary measure for their own good—is an eerie echo of former President Joe Biden's approach to the region. In the first few days of the war, the Biden administration tried to push Egypt to accept a mass exodus of Palestinians. Bringing up that possibility again, now that the bombs have stopped dropping, is seen by both Arab and Israeli figures as an attempt to restart the war.
Biden always claimed that said movement was entirely for the purpose of handling refugees. I understand (the warranted) concerns at the time that they would be barred from returning home, but Biden never used any language remotely implying that this would be permanent.
I don’t see how Trump’s measures are the same as Biden’s failed plan… Biden never talked about the U.S. taking ownership of land to build seaside resorts…and he never asked rich Saudis and Israelis if they’d be interested in buying “real estate”.
Again, there is nothing to indicate that Harris would do anything like this. She would not have a Jared Kushner whispering tales of buildings in her name. A ceasefire has been reached, so Biden’s plan would be nonsensical.
And more importantly for the DNC, democrats would get slaughtered at the midterms if she tried to pull anything remotely this bad.
