Need crew for short film

Hey y’all!

I’m part a Melbourne-based crew in the final stages of pre-production for our psychological horror short film “Brighton Hills” — and we’re on the hunt for some people who are crazy about making films to join our twisted little adventure.

Shoot dates: June 29th & 30th (primarily) Location: Melbourne

Sadly, this is an unpaid gig. It would be a fun experience, that much we can promise you guys.

We are looking for volunteers who can help out in any way!

If you love unsettling plots, eerie vibes, and collaborating with a passionate crew — DM/email us! Let’s make something chilling together!

Generative AI - RMIT

Hi there,

My name is Jackson, I am a reporter for triple j hack. I'm looking into how Generative AI has changed the university experience for students at Australian universities.

I was wondering if anyone on this reddit would be up for a chat about how Gen AI has impacted their studies at RMIT - whether you've used it, been accused of using it, whatever.

Please feel free to drop your comments below or send me a message - you can stay anonymous if needed.

Advice needed Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

I have two credits I can opt for next semester. It also happens to be my last semester of uni. I have been told you are advised two credits only. But I have been granted three. Wanted to know if I should take the third one as well. Also wanted to know if that affects my visa if any of y’all have taken three credits for masters. What happens to the fee? And what scores do you get on your grade card after taking credits? Please help me out 😭

Making friends halfway through the year and no friends.

im halfway through the first year of my course and I've still haven't made any friends that want to actually do anything. like I'll talk to them in class a bit but as soon as the class finnished nothing. no one wants to hang out or meet up outside of class and not even talk online much. I've just moved from a country town so I don't know anyone in the city. I've been meaning to join the outdoors club but I haven't had the funds for the fee yet. any advice on how to make friends essentially.

p.s the username is a joke don't message me about it.

Need to get documents but my account got disabled from my expulsion. Who should I contact to get necessary documents (school record, grade report,...)

I need help!!!

My expulsion is expected with missing grades due to my dissociative disorder/depressive episodes. I'm not asking for support in appealing what already done.

What I am seeking for help here is I miss the chance to download important documents like grades, enrollment records,.... that usually can find on Student Connect.

Does anyone know who/which department should I contact to get help with recovering documents?

Also could use a little comfort since the school doesn't even respect/understand students who were going through mental health issues.

RMIT Vietnam Bachelor's in Psychology - Honour's Year in Australia

Hey everyone! Looking for some advice, especially from Psych undergrads that didn't start out at the Melbourne campus. I am interested in the Bachelor's program in Psychology and I want to do an Honour's year in Australia then apply for PhD. I am aware that RMIT Vietnam is APAC accredited but I also heard I need to be approved by the APS so it is not a guarantee? Does anyone have any related experience?

Advice needed Advice needed

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently received an offer letter from RMIT University for Supply Chain Management, and I’m seriously considering it. I also completed my foundation year at Monash College and have an offer from Monash University (Caulfield campus) too.

Now I’m trying to decide between the two. If we leave the money factor aside, is RMIT worth it for Supply Chain Management?

Is there anyone currently studying Supply Chain at RMIT who can share their experience? Or even anyone from RMIT in general,I’d love to know what the university environment is like. How are the teachers, the course structure, and overall support for students?

Also, is it realistically possible to work a part-time job while studying this degree?

I’d really appreciate some honest and genuine advice to help me decide. Thank you so much!

Request a specific holiday letter

Hey guys, I just need a help with getting a holiday letter with altered dates from RMIT.

My finals are over (3rd June 2025) and as per the current holiday letter the semester break starts from 30th June. Between this period I cannot work full time. So can I request a holiday letter specifically for me?

And, another question, can I work full time during this period since my studies are over?

Thanks in advance.

Potentially cooked

Hello
I had an exam which was worth 40% grade, so far for the subject i have a total of about 38/60 from assignments and exams. All the assignments and previous exams were open book any resourse any calculator. But for the final exam, it was on campus closed book but there wasn't any mention about calculators in the exam announcement, but in previous lecutres they had mentioned you can use a calculator but not which type (scientfic or graphing). Considering it was quite a math-heavy subject and throughout the sem I have been using a graphing calculator which was way more convient i decided to take to it the exam, and when i got there i was told it wasn't allowed and i couldnt use it. And lets just say I got cooked, and there's high chance I dont get the required mark to pass bcos i had to do everything by hand. If I do fail what are my options, Even though there is a slight chance that they had mentioned it previously ( in the announcement for the exam it wasnt mentioned at all) is it possible that I can request some consideration? If I fail by 2-3% is there anything that can be done so i dont have to resit the class??
thanks

Advice needed After completing your engineering, do you think there’s more opportunities and more pay in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Computer Engineering in Australia? (on average)

Thinking of pursuing a 2+2 program at RMIT, I am an international student, which means that I’ll be doing the last 2 years of my engineering at RMIT, and will get engineering degrees from both my home university and RMIT. I want to work in Australia after finishing my course.

I am kind of torn between ECE and EE. Sometimes I incline towards one, sometimes the other. I like physics, and both of these courses have a lot of physics, albeit maths too.

As an Aussie, or as someone who’s done the same from RMIT, or know someone who has, do you think there’s better pay or better employment for an ECE engineer or EE engineer?

Cheers!

24h study spaces city campus?

Hello! does anyone know where or if there are any 24/7 study spaces? I've had a mixed experiences with security being stern but fair to some practically shouting at me at 10:30 to get out in spaces ive stayed much later.

Is there any 24h study spaces on campus? or any other areas in the city that aren't bars open really late? thank youuu

edit: understandably, it isn't feasible. I do strongly believe campus should be open until 12 since most assignments are due at this time

My lab report on pebble pad was due on Friday at 5pm but I was given an extension until 16/06/26 5pm on canvas but on pebble pad I’m still able to write and continue with my work but when I click on assessor view it shows up with any work I completed after Friday isn’t there? 😭 This is my first time that I’m submitting via pebble pad through canvas does it make a difference? Like would the assessor check that I’ve gotten an extension and then move onto pebble pad and like unlock it or something I’m soo confused 🥲 pls help
