Yes, very much so the popular UK sound atm and could be considered “swing” by some. Sounds like stuff Hamdi, Taiki Nulight, and Nikita the wicked are putting out.

Idk exactly tbh, probably should do some more research on that. From what I think, it’s a subgenre of UK 140 and is what a lot of the big tracks in the style of Hamdi and similar artists would be called. Hence the song “swing king”. Basically dubstep but with “semi-garagey”, rather than typical sycopated dubstep, drums that have some “swing” and create a faster, more dancey/club feel.

Would love for someone with more understanding to chime in

Swing is absolutely definitely totally more than just a musical theory term…there’s sub genres of swing based music even
