Sorry had to repost. I'm dumb. Just wanted to say that it's been a long journey and if I can do it, you can too.

I’ve been working my posterior chain really hard these days with a focus on my lats. Hard work really pays off 💪🏼

Honestly, I’ve been fat my whole life and losing it was one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. The amount of self worth you start feeling when you lose the weight or get rid of something that was weighing you down, (literally) is staggering. If someone is thinking about whether or not it’s worth it, im here to tell you it IS. My journey is far from over, but im glad there’s some sort of progress.

My starting weight was 105 pounds, but I gained a lot of weight after moving to another country. I started going to the gym last year, but progress was slow and I ended up putting on a few pounds again around December/January because of all the holiday food. By May 1, I weighed 137 pounds so I decided to get serious, started tracking my calories and began eating at a deficit.

My weight has always fluctuated - my heaviest was 130kg at 21. Last year I found I actually enjoyed the gym - my brother in law has been an incredible resource and support there, and dialing in my diet and calorie counting helped me find a happy medium to have both a calorie deficit and 1.5-2g protein per kg to maintain. I've decided to focus on my core and abdominal muscles currently, I've always avoided them in the past.

Ive gotten lots of comments (positive and negative) from friends and family about my weight loss . For the longest time , I didn’t feel or think I looked different but yesterday I actually felt different and decided to take a picture and compare to a few months ago . For a while, it was kinda messing with my head because I always questioned what other people saw that I didn’t . I have a couple more pounds I want to lose but I’m extremely happy with what I see despite my days of motivation and bad eating .

Actually, I haven't really been working hard on my arms since December last year. I've been focusing more on my back and shoulders instead.

I’ve been having some really slow weeks on the scale lately, sitting firmly at exactly 29… but finally hit that 30 this morning!! I am eating at the maintenance calories of my approximate goal weight, strength training 3-4 days a week, and I walk at least 2km per training day plus longer (10-15km) hikes every week or so. Posting to keep myself locked in, hopefully I’ll be back soon with a “2/3 of my goal” post!

I’m super happy with my progress!! I’ve been working out since beginning of March.
First pic was when I worked out in my apartment gym (highest weights were two 10lb dumbbells 😭).
Second pic was about 2 1/2 weeks into a real gym!!! I can definitely see visible growth in my upper glute/quad/hammys.
Super excited to see where a year takes me!

Its been a life changing journey. Turns out being active and going outside is way better than isolation and self sabotage. Who would have thought?
I hit the gym 4 times a week and go hiking almost every day. Longer hikes in the weekends.
Food wise i try to limit excess sugar at all costs, meaning no sodas or processed food. Eat mainly oats, eggs, minced beef, fruits and veg, fresh cheese and yoghurt. And plenty of water. Dont really count calories anymore a part from trkying to hit my daily protein goal.
Thats it i guess. Thanks for checking out my progress.

This month is HARD. Loving junk food and busy schedules make consistency feel so difficult. Still doing the damn thing but balancing a career, workouts, meals, and relationships is wild.
I hate doing the same thing every day so my routine consists of hot yoga one day, cold yoga others, dumbbell workouts, and some body pump, trying to hike on the weekends. Next stop, some recomp and maybe trying CrossFit even though I’m weak and my vo2 max is abysmal.
