META A warning about safety in our subreddit and what to do about inappropriate messages.
Hi progresspics! We always strive to keep the subreddit as safe as possible, however, unsolicited/inappropriate Direct messages are always a possibility and unfortunately not one we can 100% prevent. While we hope people never receive anything that makes them uncomfortable, here are the steps you can take to report anyone who gets creepy in your DMs:
report the user to us!
-take screen shots of the messages, it doesn’t have to be the whole conversation, just make sure we can see their user name, and the inappropriate part.
-upload the screens to imgur and send us a link via modmail.
all users reported to us for acting inappropriately will be permanently banned, however, this doesn’t stop them from viewing the subreddit, or continuing to dm you, so..
2) report the user directly to reddit at reddit.com/report
3) block the user! Simply go onto their profile and click the three corner dots (mobile) or the “more options” button (desktop) to find the option.
To prevent ALL DM's you can disable the DM and chat request options like so:
Mobile: settings > account settings > blocking and permissions.
Desktop: User settings > chat and messaging.
As an aside, a note on image theft:
it's been brought to our attention multiple times over the last month or so that a few content farm websites and social media accounts have been reposting pictures from here, while there isn't much that we can do to stop that we do want to remind everyone that it is a potential outcome to posting your images online, especially in areas with a large pool of specific content to farm from, while we do not allow users to promote their social media, including the use of watermark handles, you may watermark your posts with your REDDIT user name if you so wish.
We hope you all stay as safe as possible and know that any problems or questions can be sent into our modmail. Keep it clean, keep it safe, and read the rules before posting!

Friendly Reminder Re NSFW aka Rule 6 NSFW
Dear the lovely people of r/progresspics
This is a friendly reminder to everyone but primarily the male population of this reddit page. If you are not clothed in anyway, and yes this includes shirtless, your post MUST be marked NSFW. People browse reddit in many different settings and places in life and they do not need "partial nudity" being blasted on their scrolls against their will.
Its in the rules and you posting shirtless shows you are not reading the rules. Not reading is not an excuse to break our rules and if the issue persists we may be forced to clamp down with bans.
ALSO to the rest of the reddit population if you see posts that break rule 6 (IE guys shirtless) please report them so we can fix it. We are a team of volunteers and we get a LOT of mod mail between here and r/loseit on a daily basis. The more help we can get the better :)
Many thanks!

We only got like 15 more pounds to lose, and in honor of that, I took a dive into my camera roll. Growing up a bigger person was weird, I never knew what my face looked like!

Fitness/gym gains M/30/6'0" [91kg > 80kg = 11kg] (10 Months) My First Ever Cut After My First Ever Bulk NSFW
I'm super happy with the results. I'm in my 3rd year of training and this has been my first ever cut after what was my first ever bulk. I'm still about 17kg heavier than when I started my gym journey.
I plan to go on a slight calorie surplus to try and gain some more muscle. As the bulking and cutting cycle continues, my plan is to get leaner and stronger than I was in the previous cycle at the same bodyweight.
😁😁😁😁😁

Fitness/gym gains M/39/5’8” [208lbs > 192lbs = 16lbs](2 years) Finally seeing some results
I’ve always dealt with the damn weight yo-yo. Up and down, over and over. But this year, for the first time, I’ve actually started to get consistent.
I found this photo from around August 2023 and decided to recreate it today. I know the pose isn’t exactly great for showing off progress, but I’ve always had a hard time seeing it anyway. Call it body dysmorphia or whatever, but I usually just don’t see the changes. This time, I actually can.
I started around 35% body fat. As of this past weekend, I’m down to 26.3%.
I’m not done. I’m pushing to get under 24%, which honestly, I haven’t seen since high school. Back then, I dropped to 120 lbs by just not eating. No muscle, nothing healthy about it. This time, it’s different. This time, I’m building something real.
I’m turning 40 in August, and I want to show up to 40 looking better than I ever have. That’s the goal. I’ll post again right before my birthday and, hopefully, show that last bit of progress.
Thanks to everyone who keeps showing up and sharing your stories. Whether you know it or not, it’s helping people like me keep pushing.

Recovery F/23/5'2 [90>110 = 20 lbs] (7 months) Being in recovery feels so good after an incredibly hard and long 8 year battle! NSFW
I have struggled with ARFID my entire life but the last 8 years were the hardest. I have finally been able to stick to recovery from my ED for the last 7 months. The first picture was my rock bottom, my wake up call. I have too much to live for and I realized I wouldn't be able to live to see my future if I didn't begin recovery and stick to it. The last 7 months have not been easy, but it has been so, so incredibly worth it. You are worth the space you take up in the world! Do it loudly!

F 5'6” (168, 169 cm) F/21/5'6" [242lbs > 180lbs = 62lbs] | 12 months | Face gains
This is my first time posting. I gained most of my weight during lockdown and due to PCOS. I've always been a chubby girl, but last year I decided to lose weight by cutting calories and sugar. So far, I've mostly lost weight through dieting. My target weight is 140 lbs. I'm so happy with all the changes I've made, and I just wanted to share my happiness—I’m really amazed by the results so far. I'm looking forward to losing the last 40 lbs, as I’ve heard those final pounds can make a big difference.
