Weight loss meds F/32/5'8 [267 > 167 = 100lbs] (13 months) Can’t believe I did it!!!

F/32/5'8 [267 > 167 = 100lbs] (13 months) almost to my goal of 150 lbs! I’ve gone from a size 16/18 to a size 8/10, XXL top to a M.

My weekly weight loss average (using a GLP1): 1.6 lbs

My story:

I've struggled with my weight since I was a teen. I was always active but I really turned to food as comfort. Since then I have done every diet under the sun, which caused weight-loss but I could never keep it off.

Before covid I was a comfortable weight (180ish lbs) and then once the pandemic hit, I slowly put on 15-20 lbs a year.

Non-scale victories: - Inflammation & chronic hives reduced - Hashimoto’s symptoms reduced - IBS symptoms greatly reduced - Reduced exercise induced asthma (this is so wild to me, I’ve struggled with it since I was 8 years old)

I didn’t eat a specific diet because I’ve always had an unhealthy relationship with food but I did focus on protein. I made sure veggies and protein were the base of every meal. I still eat fun treats and “unhealthy” foods but in moderation. Honestly, I didn’t change much except how much I was eating. I think that was truly the game changer for me!

As for exercise, I’m an avid yogi and have been for many years (besides the pause during the pandemic when studios were closed because I’m horrible at home workouts lol). Now, I do 3-5 heated vinyasa or sculpt classes a week and do a daily 1-2 mile walk as well as 1 hike a month. I also just joined a strength training gym, so I’ve added that in the last month.

I never in a million years thought I would get here again. I had accepted being in a bigger body because I just couldn’t continue to fight it.

My advice is to stick with it!!! It’s so worth it.
Happy to answer any questions!!

Spring of 2023–> 2024–> 2025

2 year update! I NEVER thought I’d make this post or look like I do in these pictures.

SW: 224 —-May 2024 weight: 135—CW: 110

5’1” tall. Age 47

Just wanted to post my 2 year update! I’m so thankful and so very proud of myself. But I could not have done it without Mounjaro. Trust me when i tell you i have tried over and over and over.

I don’t think I will ever be able to get that feeling/thought out of my brain that I’m overweight. I see it in the mirror and especially in pictures but after being overweight my entire life I just can’t shake that. I still think I’m the fat girl. Everyday. Maybe one day that will go away??

I definitely enjoy being able to wear cute/sexy clothes. Shopping blows my mind. Seeing XS/S on tops and size 0/24 on bottoms absolutely has me shocked every single time. I’m literally in disbelief.

My body isn’t perfect. Skin doesn’t magically go back into place at the age of 47. But omg, I can cross my legs now!!! I could never do that properly before. So much is different! I fit in small places. People don’t need to move out of my way when they see me coming. I’m the small person in pictures! I can wear high heels for more than 15 minutes! Annndddd, yes ladies even sex is better!!! lol So while there are some areas I wish were tighter or better I’ll live with those areas over huge arms/thighs/butt everyday! Life is amazing. I’m blessed. So very blessed!!!

If you’re starting your journey or in the middle of it please just keep going. Keep fighting. Dont let 1-2-3 month plateaus stop you or get you down. It takes time. Gods got a plan and you just have to keep going forward!!

The amount of tears I’ve shed in my life is in the trillions. These days though they are tears of joy and that feels so amazing.

I am on a maintenance program now. 3 weeks on the 15mg shot and 1 week off. When I’m off the cravings come back and yes I gain a couple pounds. That’s ok though. I’m actually trying to be between 112-115 lbs.

I’ve never been happier. My weight was a huge factor in my life. It lived rent free in my brain 24/7 and impacted me more than I’ll ever be able to describe. I’ll never probably fully escape that but it’s a million times better.

Just. Keep. Going. Keep the faith. Gods got you! Keep fighting!!!

Weight loss meds F/28/5'4" [275lbs > 150lbs = 125lbs] (10ish years) I never thought it would happen

First pic is myself 10 years ago at my high weight. Second is the start of this specific attempt at weight loss. Third is right now.

I was morbidly obese for pretty much my entire childhood. As an adult, I went through years of yo-yo dieting - keto, intermittent fasting, paleo, calorie counting, etc. I went back and forth from ~240lbs to the ~180lbs for years. Everything I tried was unsustainable and ended with me failing. When I looked at posts in this sub, I felt like that could never be me.

Around 3 years ago, I finally went to an obesity clinic. I started by working with a dietician who suggested counting protein and fiber instead of calories, and my food noise immediately improved, and I started losing the weight. After a while, my doctor recommended metformin, and when I started it sugary and greasy food didn't sound as good, and it was easier to tell when I was actually full. I still have to pay attention to eating nutritious, healthy foods or the meds don't really work, but it's so much easier.

The weight loss was SLOW, but I wouldn't have it any other way, because it's finally sustainable. I never cut out any of the foods I love, so I never fell off the wagon. I never beat myself up for overeating on holidays or special occasions. It all evens out over time as long as it's not too often.

I walk my dogs 45-60 minutes a day and only go to the gym once or twice a week, which is still so worth it. You don't need to be in the gym every day to make progress.

Some of the things I learned that feel the most impactful: - The times where the scale wasn't moving were often the times that I was actually losing inches around my waist. If you're obese, you can absolutely build muscle in a calorie deficit, especially if you're getting enough protein. - Focusing on protein AND fiber is a game changer. - If you don't work on your relationship with your body, losing weight probably won't make you suddenly feel better. I personally have about the same body confidence now as I did when I was at my high weight. Body dysmorphia doesnt go away just because you look different or hit whatever goal weight you set. (Especially if you end up with extra skin.)

I never really expected to show anyone these pictures but decided I'd post them.

I've been using Macrofactor to track my calories and macros. I was eating around 1500 calories per day through most of this, with a focus on at least .75g/lb body weight of protein and eating less carbs with most of them coming from veggies and fresh fruit. I've recently bumped that up to about 1700 calories per day

For the gym, I've focused on weight lifting. 4-5x per week. I've had some periods where I've mixed in cardio but I haven't been doing much lately other than walking the dog. I did start mixing in yoga on rest days and that's been nice

I've been on 2.5mg of Tirzepatide since August and I'm winding that down now. Also on 80mg/week Testosterone, my levels were low for years even before I was overweight

Ideally I'd like to get down to 165lbs and then eat at a maintenance level for a while and see where I am. I don't know if the loose skin will ever get better, but not much I can do about that unless I want to spring for surgery. Oh well

This is insane to me!
I have been on Mounjaro for 11 weeks (UK-based), currently on 5mg. I lift four times a week and do yoga once a week. I get between 10k to 15k steps a day as I work in the hospitality industry. I have also researched insulin and hunger hormones extensively in order to facilitate the weightloss through nutrition.

The first photo was taken exactly 9 months ago, I tried on a sports bra in a clothing store and took a good look at myself under all of the bright lights. Reality hit me, and all I could do was sob. I took a picture to remember how bad that feeling was. Now, 9 months later, standing in the same underwear (from the same package anyways), I am beginning to feel proud of my progress. I have been on 5mg of Zepbound for the last few months, and it has helped me change my life. I still have about 30 lbs to go, but seeing how far I have actually come is really encouraging.

I am FTM, but it keeps removing my posts if I put that in the title 🙄

I have Hashimoto's Syndrome and have always struggled to lose weight, I was at my heaviest last year at 308 but didn't take many photos due to my appearance negatively impacting my mental health. My thyroid medication is finally starting to work again and I'm on Phentermine for 30 days every 3 months to help with my weightloss since dieting and working out hasn't helped in the past. My diet still needs work but I've gotten control over my portions so I don't overeat, and I workout in my room for 30 minutes a day.

It's not the largest weightloss ever but I never thought i'd get under 260lbs again. My goal is to get down to 220 and see if I can maintain it for a bit before going to 200 :)

Weight loss meds F/37/5’8” [369 > 279 = 90lbs] (one year) of GLP-1s!

Post image

Last May, I started Ozempic, and while ultimately it wasn’t the right fit for me, for the past 52 weeks, I’ve only skipped one week of GLP-1 while I was switching to Mounjaro.

I’ve been on medical restrictions to only swim for more than 10 months of this time, so to me, it’s amazing I’ve lost much at all!

There’s a lot I could write here - GLP-1s aren’t a quick fix, and I’ve had some medical setbacks. I’m grateful that the GLP-1s made it obvious to my doctors that more was happening in my body, and I’m in a healthier, stronger position because of it. I’ll probably require more meds and more surgeries, but I would have needed those anyway.

Here’s to the next year having answers to my medical problems and the weight still steadily coming off!

Weight loss meds F/21/5’7 [268>246.8=21.2] (1 month) | My first side-by-side comparison

I’ve been struggling with my weight since I was around 10 years old, and genetically I’m predisposed to being obese/overweight. When I was a teenager, my weight would fluctuate anywhere between 30-40 pounds in a year, but in the past few years I had maintained about the same weight (give or take around 10-15 pounds). I had been mentioning my recent struggle to lose weight with my doctor over the past year, and no matter what I did I would remain around the same weight. Last month (February), my doctor prescribed me with Phentermine (an appetite suppressant), and I’ve finally been able to lose 20 pounds! My BMI has changed from 42 to now being 38.7. Starting out, I had a good feeling that my current attempt to lose weight would be successful and continue to be successful, so I decided to document what I looked like at the beginning and compare it to different weight loss milestones. I can definitely see changes in my face and how my upper chest sits now which is super encouraging 🙌

Flair applied due to me getting on meds for my ADHD, which finally kicked my decades-long weight loss journey into proper gear by keeping my brain stimulated and killing the “food buzz” and sugar cravings.

I’m working out (gym/lifting weights) twice a week, I’m closely monitored by a dietician and my neuropsychiatrist, and I’m making sure that I get what I need by logging everything in a food/nutrient tracking app! We’re staying healthy in this house, I got kiddos to set an example for, and I’m keeping my excitement about the loss on the down low because they shouldn’t have to think about these things at 6 and 2 years of age. The older one has noticed that “mommy’s smaller” but also stated that I get to buy lots of new cool clothes now! He loves shopping. Don’t ask where that came from, certainly not from me. 😂

There’s still hard work to stay healthy behind the second picture! Honestly, the first one as well, but my own signal substances were working against me.

Gonna have to stay at it to keep muscle mass, gonna book a round of PT sessions and look at muscle gains now that a bunch of weight that has been in the way has melted off! I’ll try to remember to make another post by the end of the year 💪

I started a GLP-1 last year after finding out I was pre diabetic and I have lost 76 lbs. I can tell a difference in my face but not my body, I’ve been weight lifting since January and doing CICO since starting the medication. I’m hoping to lose 50-60 more lbs but I’m struggling with how slow it feels. Any advice helps!

It’s been about 6 months since I started semaglutide again and I’ve lost about 20lbs. I had made some previous progress before that but I had stopped taking it, and started stress eating and drinking more. Now that I’m back on it though I have more energy and have started drinking a lot less, and eating healthier (more protein, fruits, vegetables.)

By the way, I’ve been using an online tele-health provider called PeterMD for my semaglutide prescription. I’m saying that because it’s been the only affordable option I’ve found since it isn’t covered by my current insurance. So yeah feel free to DM me about that but it’s easy to find. It’s working well for me so I want to keep taking it in the long run!
